I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

I do want a balanced car really, it needs good handling as well as speed and acceleration, I guess I should start with the other aspects of the car whilst slowly working the engine - I want good power figures straight away but it isn't reasonable thinking about it seriously - (if i neglect other areas) and the fact that I will have to adhere to a 3 year power:weight ratio when I get my license back. I am however still interested to know how much cash I will have to pour into this car to get good power figures (although the budget is only $15kUSD after purchase at the moment, there will be plenty more time to save and slowly build)

I wouldn't try to build the car all at once. Since you already have the SR20 why not just do the suspension while you straighten out what you want to do with the motor?

If you do it all at once chances are that you are going to want to change something sooner than later.

for a balanced car i wouldnt shoot higher then 350rwhp, focus more on the cars handling characteristics, focus on midrange power....just my unbiased opinion

it has a 180 front though :? so it's a silvia (240sx s13) with a 180 front?

I've seen 180s with s13 fronts but not the other way around, did your car come out like that or was it a modification?

we build and tune a good amount of 240's at our shop and ran alot of different turbos on them. from the stock turbo up to Gt3040's. so if you know where you wanna be around power or if you have a choice between 2 different turbos you can probably be able to dig up some dyno sheets to show the differance. theres good nissan guys on this board that im sure will be able to answer any questions you got. good luck.

RS13 SS, no SR for you. He has a 2.4 litre N/A. Essentially it is a 180SX, meaning it's a fastback. In the US we got absolute shit engines, so we avoid using the Japanese names for the cars to avoid confusion.

If you are going to be waiting 6 months, and have an additional $15k US after buying the car, might I suggest a GT-R? Or if you like the S13, perhaps an S15? What is your reason for choosing the S13? If I had the ability (as you do in Australia) I would choose one of these other two cars without hesitation.

Im with Toby.
Wait and pick up a clean R32 GTR, stock as possible.
R34 Wheels, Coilovers/arms/bushings/etc., N1 oil/water pump, maybe rebuild it all together im not sure how late model rb26s hold up..
Exhaust, downpipe, maybe new mafs, boost control, rom tune, and some sticky tires.

I would talk to some aussie tuners, as they know alot more about the GTR as me....
But I would look into getting a used GTR.

That or maybe a Soarer, Chaser, Aristo, or something like that...

Depends what you want to do with the car I suppose.
S14.. Currently motorless.
