I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

such bad luck....

the only boost creeping issue that iwas aware of was when the 'high boost' button was selected on the controller ... from what i understood, and saw (both on the tune and while driving it myself) was that when the low boost was selected ... it held a steady 14psi.

I know you meant no disrespect, knauff, and were only trying to help... but if i saw a creeping issue while under normal driving/racing conditions, i would have not proceeded to push it any further....

like i said, the only creeping issue that i saw and was aware of, was when it was on 'high boost' and it most definately was not during this race or any time after it was tuned, for that matter.

Munster - darren tore it apart while i was at work today ... piston 4 is destroyed ... nice fat chunk off the intake side ... much worse than before.

as for racing on a conservative tune .... i was under the impression that conservative tunes were for motor longevity and life

And this didn't make much less power than it did before. That 409 was on 16 psi ... 36x @ 14 isn't all that much less

Failed injector has crossed my mind too ... we're all still trying to figure out the cause of the problem.

I, along with everyone else who has looked at it, am completely lost as to what the deal is..... I just know that this is one expensive fix ... especially since it lasted only 4 days since the tune ... and 2 of which were raining. ..

Damn, man. That sucks. Check wiring and get a flow test on that injector too. That's odd.

:-( sorry to hear that matt.....I was going by what was stated when i was talking ot denis the day after i saw you and you friend at the shop I wanted to know how it went and power etc..... Denis was saying that it wouldnt hold boost above a certain rpm ( i believe 6500) so he said he tuned it conservatively because of that fact meaning didnt mess with timing much and he said the air/fuels were overlayed with your old tune and everything looked consistant. I must have misunderstood about the boost creep issue sorry.

My point is that someone posts about their car blowing up and then people start pointing fingers and name dropping before you even know the whole situation.

Like munster said I'd defiantely get the injectors flow tested, check wiring etc.....

what do the other piston tops look like? any signs of detonation on them? little cracks? post pics of them if you can. Is it only #4 and all others look good?

good luck if you need any help id be glad to take a road trip up and help with whatever, hooters is up that way and i been fiending for 3 mile island wings 8) & hooters

i'll try to get some pics this weekend, as i've gotta take some pics of crap i'm trying to sell to fund this rebuild/fix (check the classifieds for an upcoming for sale thread by me)

I honestly can't say what the other piston tops look like because i can't remember. It was one of those things i only had a brief time to look at and was so devastated by what i saw in 4, that it's the only thing that really sticks out.... pics to come though.

Munster's gonna get a number of a place in somerset that can flow the injectors and i'm also gonna try to find a more local place ... and i'm gonna get them checked .... if that's not what it is, i honestly have no freakin clue.

Road trip it up ... i'm down for a mini meet to grab some wings and stuff ... just let me know ahead of time so i know my schedule works out well ... it seems everytime you guys come down, i gotta work!

haha ... well i'm not going to be doing any rebuilding, etc any time soon... probably over winter. I'm gonna sell some crap, buy a long block of some sort to get it running ... then build the crap out of it over winter and be ready to destroy some bike in spring

but, we can all just get drunk and eat wings
