I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

Let the debate begin

This debate kinda sucks.

But I'm a b-series guy, so of course I'm going to go with the b-series. Don't forget your drivetrain upgrades though.

This debate doesn't suck at all....it's actually pretty interesting, esp since it's helping me decide what to put into my engine bay.

Maybe your just a lil jealous since my options are wide open, and you already chose your fate in motorworld. LOL
My car is cleaner than your ass.

I'm sticking to my guns...boost. I don't need explanations or reason. Boost.

LOL. Jealous of your stock civic? Let's not play that game. :nono:

You're asking about two completely different engine platforms that will put out two completely different kinds and amounts of power. Nobody is debating anything because debating apples and oranges is pointless.

But anyway... what kind of driving/racing are you going to be doing with this car? This will give us a better idea of which setup would be better for you.

mr.green wrote:yes, FULLY built. The costs would be VERY close for all I would want to put into the B block. vs. the cost of a nearly stock K engine with the head upgrade and ECU.
If the cost would be nearly the same then B yet again, because you'll be making double the horsepower.

To enlighten you on the status of my project, it's not stock whatsoever and you'll be jealous of the car once it's complete, trust me. However, I'm not into forum pissing contests.

As for uses, which engine would work for the car due to purpose, there is no purpose. I build cars to build them not to serve some purpose. I simply asked which configuration do you, or anyone else, prefer. One or the other is all I asked, You can support your answer if you like, but honestly I dont care. I was simply asking for a pick, nothing more or less to be the point.

The car will have a large amount of power in there own regard NA K20 or FI B18.
Of course the B will have more power if the budget is equal, but the K will have a greater challenge to accomplish.

Sorry to be snobbish about this, but I feel a certain negative attiitude on this thread, and I want it be more cut and dry. RELAX, just give me your choice.

THANK YOU

i have to agree this debate is interesting....just to hear other peoples opinions.....i own a booted ls/vtec. alittle tempermental, if not tuned right or built right you will have all kinds of problems. don't get me wrong they are lots of fun and fast. but i personaly think all motor is more reliable but just as fun if you are building it the way you said. again tuning and building are key to a good reliable car. just my 2cents
i need to stop braking things
