I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

The thing that tottally got me into the JDM Scene was because of James (JDM_EK3) Because as some of you know he is the founder of Route. 90....
I happened to be camping with a friend, and going to the beach one day... Right after the beach I happen to see 60-80 Hondas Clean (It was Route. 90s yearly meet) to the extreme in the parking lot, one next to the other... it was amazing! then I found some sites... lol

I first got into cars when i was a freshman in highschool. And when i got my integra i fucked it all up with stupid parts. But through a flook, i met eric (tobytuned) who really opend my eyes to what real car tuning is all about. Because of his guidence i now strive to not have a JDM car, but a Car that is built clean and performs to the limit. I thank him for gettin me where i am today.

A few years ago back in the day in a previous car i got spanked badly by a Honda. At the time i thought i had a quick 4 cylinder but was sadly mistaken after watching myself get it handed to me by what appeared to be, from the outside, a mostly stock car..... man was i wrong. Shortly after i sold the car and purchased a Civic and have been hooked ever since.

I cut my teeth on hot rods and classics with my dad. The car that actually motivated me to stick with oem looks was our 66 Mustang. All original except for a few things here and there that COMPLIMENTED the styling. I never liked changing the bodylines or looks of a car. That's what makes the car.
As far as Hondas it has been .saint that has kept me motivated as far as the hunt for parts and style. If he hadn't I think my car would almost be a track only vehicle right now. The Hybridynamics guys with their motor setups. AM7 of course. The Built crew.

it's hard to say exactly what it was that got me into cars ... i'd have to say it was my boss and some of his friends when i was in like 4th grade. He had a couple crx's and i fell in love. I also remember seeing Don (sikblugsx) at rupp's house way back in the day and loved that car.
Then there was the fact that i hung out with my boss's little brother nearly every day... Hercules. At the time I was supposed to inherit my mom's auto talon (non turbo ftw) and he was to get his brother's OG accord sedan. He ended up getting a CRX instead, and i remember talking about B16 swaps ever since... and that was when we were in jr high school. He did an LS swap back in 02 and i was definately hooked on speed from then.. and started saving for a swap for the civic i picked up... ended up selling it and getting my integra a few years down the road.
Oh ... how can I forget ... back in 02/03 i met Munster and John. Hercules and I were in total shock with those cars, and i knew i wanted something simple and clean.
As far as what keeps me going right now, it's just about everyone that i know personally that's into cars. I'm kind of glad that i don't surround myself with douchebags, with the exception of popeye. Seriously though, all of my close friends have some pretty sick cars and it keeps me wanting more. It's nice to be known as 'the honda guys' around town and have respect from even most of the local v8 crowd... and that's pretty hard to do around here. It's always funny to end up meeting up somewhere and we're all rocking some Built gear ... it's like we're just repping it for them down here.
