I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain
Idle Problems
Re: Idle Problems
EGO = exhaust gas oxygen
But yeah, they've had those for awhile now.

Re: Idle Problems
Oh i've never heard the term exhaust gas oxygen or its acronym.

Re: Idle Problems
Oooh its fur fuckin megaquirt.
Re: Idle Problems
And I got a stupid MAF anyways. I hate MAFs
Re: Idle Problems
That one is for MS, but I'm sure there are others. Surely the more expensive EMSs have them.
If you went standalone you could ditch the MAF altogether.

Re: Idle Problems
Yeah I know. I've been tossing the idea around of switching to standalone when the engine is built. I may have to for the super Frankenstein of an engine I may have

Re: Idle Problems
Just got back from the Mechanic...He gave me a list of codes and said there is nothing he can do because he doesnt know what is wrong with the car....I appreciate him not replacing a bunch of parts and charging me a ton of labor....the codes are as follows.....P0113, P0505, P1519, P0135, P0132, P0122....I found a website http://www.engine-light-help.com/generi ... codes.html It tells you that you can look thru the website and find ways to trouble shoot all the codes but I couldnt find it...I really dont have time (right this second)...kids are going crazy....I am going to try to reset the ECU (if one of ya'll know how please enlighten me) I think I remember reading that you pull the fuse for the ECU out and disconnect the Battery terminal...leave it out for 5-10 mins put it back in reconnect and start the car, let it idle for 5 mins with nothing on Lights, heater, etc...) and you should be good...I will try this of course after I replace the IACV I bought....Some of the other codes on there I looked at are for the TPS...this happened because I unplugged it while the car was running. So I will try to reset them and see what happens...The mechanic did say he didn't find any vacuum leaks...Which I concur I never found any except that one on the injector....
so as to ya'lls off topic convo....should I get a AFR gauge or what?
No Matt you did not bore me with our topic the other day....

Re: Idle Problems
Reset your ecu by pulling the F.I.ECU fuse, you can unplug the battery, but if you have a stock radio I wouldn't recommend it unless you have the code for it, that will just be a headache.
P0113 - Intake Air Temperature (IAT) Sensor Circuit High Voltage
P0505 - Idle Control System Malfunction
P1519 - Idle Air Control Valve (IACV) Circuit Malfunction
P0135 - Primary Heated Oxygen Sensor (Primary HO2S) (Sensor 1) Heater Circuit Malfunction
P0132 - Primary Heated Oxygen Sensor (Primary HO2S) (Sensor 1) Circuit High Voltage
P0122 - Throttle Position (TP) Sensor Circuit Low Input
Thats a lot of different issues. I'd reset the ecu and see what comes back after a couple days of driving.
As far as on AFR gauge, unless you're going to get a wbo2 its not worth it. You'd most likely have to get a 2nd o2 bung welded onto your exhaust unless you already have one, or you can find a way to bypass the need for a normal nbo2
