just getting the 8gb. even if i could put over 2000 songs on an ipod i doubt i would ever listen to them all. although i got the touch for the bigger display for some vids but stil doubt i run into mem probs but we'll see. if anything maybe i'll sell it and go bigger later if i need too :llama:

You say you wont run into memory problems now, but just wait until you get it. haha
I have about 45gigs on my ipod right now, and growing. And thats only music, I had movies but took them off.

it allows you to install third party apps for free. with the 1.1.3 firmware that should come with the touch you get, it will come with the programs that apple is charging (read:raping) the early adopters of the touch for $20, hack it and these are free. also, the SDK isnt out yet so you still cant install third party apps. I personally like being able to change my icons because the stock icons look like crap and i installed a book reader for use on the trains here. there are a myriad of other progs you can install, once you hack the ipod touch of course.

. the other thread you are referring to was started by me, but it was in reference to older firmware. to hack 1.1.3 you need to downgrade to 1.1.1, jailbreak, install octoprep, upgrade to 1.1.2, jailbreak, then you install some items from the installer app and it will install a jailbroken 1.1.3.

although im also going to be getting the 16g now, kinda had one of those "oh shit im a fucking idiot" moments the other day and thought to myself that getting a 16g is essentially getting 2x the ipod for only 100$ more. now hopefully they dont give me any shit for cancelling the 8g order for a 16g.

wow, this thing is FUCKING SICK. gotta love having wireless in the house and this will be a life saver at school with the wireless. Time to start filling this though
