i used to have a video phone on my cellphone but i wanted to trade, not take videos and send it its an actual video phone while you talk. it was pretty cool. but i had to get the phone that i wanted.

Gaijin is foreigners. Baseball is the "sport" of Japan, they actually have a day off for a so called "sports day" its just pretty much baseball.

american culture, none. they try, just as much as americans try to be all japanese. hehehe.

oh and one more thing, not every japanese person out here race and know what wangan is, and how powerful each and every single car there is out in the road. thats sterotyping, its like saying that all americans barbecue every sunday.

well, here's more info:

To get a drivers license in Japan, you have to be 20 and must attend a driving school which cost Y300,000 ($3,000) for 1 month (if you attend everyday) if not, you must meet the required hours. This includes classes, driving with the teacher and panicking, I bet you didnt know that did you?

So now you are driving and its April, You have to pay road tax, anywhere from $70, $220, $300 (depends on how big your displacement is), you have to pay JCI (Japanese Compulsary Insurance) every 2 years which cost anywhere from $400-$1,000. Before you get JCI'd you have to make sure everything in your car works but if you have performance parts that will not pass your car's emission and what not, it must be taken off. So pretty much, you have to dismember most of the parts that made your car not street legal and then put it back on after they are done. Insurance depends on age and rank (for us guys here) for example: I pay $220 every three months for my silvia regardless of my driving record in the states. So you decided that you want to junk your car. To junk it costs Y17,100 ($170), destruction title $25, Recycle fee $130 (removal of chemicals, a/c, air bag) So your option is to sell your car or junk it. But you have to have JCI on your car at all times, you cannot drive your car on the road if you dont have it.

Ramen, Japanese Ramen is no were near the Ramen you are used to eating. Ramen here is a meal, you can either get it with Miso, Salt Soup, Soy Sauce (I prefer Miso). They are made to order and have different toppings to choose from. I prefer the pork miso ramen. Slurping is an approval that its good... complements to the chef. Your order can be served with rice or gyoza in most places.

how important is it to speak / read / write japanese when going over for a holiday or something...

I hear there's not a lot of people who speak english etc... which would make it pretty important :p
