I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

Those designations are the chassis codes from Honda. Alot of people have asked what the letters mean, but there is no meaning that I know of. Just the designation. Some chassis codes are Honda of Japan and some are Honda of America. Look at your VIN on your dash.

As far as the engine...it's stamped on the block. Here's the specs (thanks to Hondaswap)

For the chassis, every car has two letters that identify it in that manner, like ED, EM, EJ, AP, etc. The number after the letters determines trim level and sometimes a slightly different chassis also.
