I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

ImprezaFest 2004

Post by ljasonl » February 27, 2004

Anyone here gonna visit ImprezaFest in St Louis? It's June 15-17, and it's gonna be awesome. They've rented out the entire Gateway International Raceway, and they are trying to get over 600 Imprezas to show up to try and break the world record of most of one model in one place at one time. Here is a proposed list of activities:
EVENTS FOR IMPREZAFEST 2004:

Car Show
Autocross
Drag Races
Track Time
Dyno Shootout

Also, there will be many vendors on site to supply you with anything you could possibly want for your Impreza.
Schedule for Imprezafest 2004
Dates June 15-17 @ Gateway International Raceway

Monday Night June 14 2004:
1) 6pm-9pm .Check in at xxxx hotels . Will have sign in registration, give registration pack away to paid people. Will know before hand who is coming Monday night, and who is coming Tuesday morning.
2) 9pm-? .Go to Restaurant / Pub xxxx for Monday night drinks and to unwind, aussie's icebreakers. Time to talk, shoot the ****, etc.

Tuesday Day/Night June 15 2004:
1)8am -noon. Check in time . Will have a designated check in area, car gets a 3 digit #, get your reg- pack, pass, etc. Will be given times to race all three days events, car show #, dyno #, etc., cruise map.
2)10am-dusk(7pm) Autocross????. This is all dependent on if we get enough people to come and get enough sponsors. This will be in the brown parking lot. Autocross will be SCCA rules and catagories. Single car time trials. Will be broken up into classes, based on mod level to car. (Prizes?)
3)10am -4pm . Bikini car wash , or some form of car wash. Cars will be a mess from the drive, are going to need to be cleaned. Aussie will need to work on "recruiting some ladies" . I know myself I'm not going to want to wash my car after driving 1800 miles.
4) 10am-7pm Dyno Shootout. Can see what your car really puts down on the pavement. Have different classes for different mod levels. (Prizes?)
5) 10am- 7pm . Vendor row. Vendors can set up tent/booth all three days to sell stuff. Will have a designated area for the vendors, Vendor CITY.
6) 7pm-9pm. Cruise around ST. louis. Ever thought about driving around a big town with alot of scubies? Here is your chance. Aussie will need to map the exact route, because I don't know the city. But a route that will have all the scenic stuff. That way everybody knows there way around.
7)9pm till ? Dinner , drinks at Pub/restaurants xxxx. Will need to look into Taxi service and location of hotel to bars/restaurant. I want NOBODY drinking and driving.

Wednesday Day/Night June 16 2004 :
1) 7:30am-9 am Breakfast at xxxx. Got to eat man.
2) 9am-10am . Check in time for late arraivals .Will have a designated check in area, car gets a 3 digit #, get your reg- pack, pass, etc. Will be given times to race all three days events, car show #, dyno #, etc., cruise map .
3)10am-7pm . Roadcourse. 1.6 mile Madness. Roadcourse will be SCCA rules and catagories. Single car time trials. Will be broken up into classes, based on mod level to car. (Prizes?)
4) 10am-7pm. Car Show. All day. For the Bling cars. Audio , best all around car, best engine, best wrx, best sti , best rs2.5 , best wagon, best Vendor ,etc. (Prizes?)
5 10am- 7pm . Vendor row. Vendors can set up tent/booth all three days to sell stuff. Will have a designated area for the vendors, Vendor CITY.
6) 7pm -?? . I am thinking of leaving this night open. Whatever you want to do , do it.

Thursday Day/Night June17 2004:
1) 7:30am-9 am Breakfast at xxxx. Got to eat man.
2) 9am-10am . Check in time for late arraivals .Will have a designated check in area, car gets a 3 digit #, get your reg- pack, pass, etc. Will be given times to race all three days events, car show #, dyno #, etc., cruise map .
3) 10am- 7pm . Vendor row. Vendors can set up tent/booth all three days to sell stuff. Will have a designated area for the vendors, Vendor CITY.
4) 10am - 7pm . Drag racing . The "premier event" for the meet. head to head action, set up in a giant bracket for the different classes, single elimanation . The slower cars first, faster as the day goes on. Wild class last... (Big HP cars)(prizes?)
5) 7pm -9 Pm . Closing event. Awards given out, trophies, prizes, last minute shout-outs, etc. Say good bye till next year.

Reasoning behind everything. The first day has alot of stuff, because I don't know if there is going to be an autocross or not. The second day is a more relax day. Other than the road course, it is more of a day to check out the vendors, see the cars in the car show, etc. I think wed night should be open . Thursday is the big day. You always save the best for last. I don't think we should have any thing else going on other than that. The only thing I might change is have the vendors only have tents/booths on the last two days , or first two days.... I think three days might be too much.
Any ideas, please speak up.

More info:
Registrations for ImprezaFest are now being accepted. Prices are as follows:

ImprezaFest Registration Fee - $75

This is your entry fee to the event. It gets you in the gate for all three days, allows you to see all events, and visit vendors/sponsors. This fee is required if you wish to attend. Pay with PayPal or any major credit card:

Event prices have not been set yet. Below are tentative prices (subject to change).

Autocross - $15
Guarantees you one timed run. More if time allows.

Road Course - $160
Minimum 34 entries, maximum 180 entries. $160 for 3 20 minute runs.

Drag Strip - $30
¼ mile drag strip. 2 runs guaranteed. Minimum of 300 entries required.

Judged Car Show - $15
Cars will be divided into classes for judging
$75 for entry into a full morning to evening 3 day event is not bad at all. It can't be cheap for them to rent out the entire Gateway International Raceway. I had planned on hitting the road course, but I don't think I can drop $160 on it. Though you do get an hour of seat time, so it's a pretty good deal too, I'll have to think about it. The only other event I'll probably enter is the car show. Also, just for paying the $75 entry fee, you'll get a "gift pack". It includes:
You will also recieve a registration pack which will include t-shirt/ gym bag/ stickers/program plus more depending on turnout and vendor participation.
I already have several Subarus gonna covoy in with me as well as a few non-Subarus, anyone here thinking about it?
