I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

Clutch Help... slipping

Post by BRYCE » February 21, 2005

So last night i was turnin down the street from my house, and bam all of a sudden my clutch pedal is super easy to put to the floor, but still springs back when let off it though. The engine will rev normal but i will hardly move it seem as if the clutch is sliping like crazy! I have to nurse it up to like 45 and i cant apply and throttle without slippin! So my question is, is it the clutch disc its self or what are some possibliltys?? Anyone??
thanks

sounds like its going. or just gettin robbed of fluid if its that easy to push in try checking the fluid and as john said bleed the line. if thats not the probelem pull the trans out and check the clutch plate and see if it has any bad scoring or wierd looking scrapes and look how close it is to the rivets. it happened to my ecliple i almost lost hte damn trans

i wouldnt think you need to bleed the line but you never know, i thought the pressure plate is what made the pedal stiff, and air being in the line gave it play...i'd say the clutch is shittin the bed if it went out all of the sudden, just take it apart and check it out

i know this is a old post post but .... i feel like putting in my 2 cents.... If the clutch is having trouble holding like that it has nothing to do with the fluid. and yes it is possable to go out all of a sudden like that. I would put my money on the pressure plate spring or a broken plate... that would make it easy to press and not have enough pressure to hold the disc against the flywheel. soo it you still drove it like that your clutch disc will be fried too.

and why did you bring it in .... all ya had to do is buy me a six pack and coulda done it for ya.....how much did you end up paying?
