I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

Low RPM hesitation

Post by munster » December 02, 2003

If I hold the throttle at a steady 3k on the tach for a short distance I get a slight hesitation until I jump on it. Over 3500 never hesitates. Always 3k and less.

I was thinking that it was either dirty injectors or O2 sensor. Any opinions?

I'm going to change the fuel filter tonight since it's cheap and easy to do. It's about due anyhow.

I know it's definitely getting fuel. The pump kicks on with the ignition and the line has plenty of pressure. The reason I'm thinking it's the filter is because it was due for changing when I still had the D16 in it. Figured I might as well change it and run some injector cleaner through it while I'm at it.

I was just wondering if anyone know what would cause hesitation under steady throttle at low RPM. Over 3500 it screams. Those are the only things I can think of.

I'm going to replace the filter, clean injectors, and change the O2. If those don't fix it...I'm lost.

my civic did the same thing, but it was because one of my plug wires got tore open slightly somehow and was sparking off the valve cover.
but my guess would be that its ur fuel filter or ur pump is starting to go

check your plugs, they can tell you alot. my car hesitates like hell all over the place. old plugs on 12:1 compression can really mess your day up in traffic.

Something was dirty. I changed the filter and cleaned the injectors. Now it idles smooth and normal and doesn't hesitate at all. *shrug* Don't know which it was, maybe a combo of both.
