I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

you will spend almost the same for a sohc vtec as a LS......

d-series all motor stinks if you plan going boost then sohc will be fine but since you are on a budget im guessing turbo is out....so save and go with a LS just my opinion though.

Well the problem is if you go vtec head and everything else you will need to do a bunch of upgrades in order to go sohc vtec so what you will spend on getting vtec in a obd0 car you can have an LS and its a direct bolt in. If you are getting rid of it then leave it alone whats the point in modding if you are not going to build from the swap you put in sounds like you are going to waste alot of time and money.

well the thing is im not sure if i am infact going to keep it or not. i might keep it, or i might get something different. my engine is getting old and weak and dosnt have any power at all. i just want something that is fun, and that i have the ability to mod if i want.

i dont know, if you guys have any better suggestions, im all ears.

DOHC ZC hands down.

Low end power, dual cam, direct drop in motor for around $400-600. No wiring issues, can stay OBDzero, can use stock ef tranny. You can even use stock ecu, a zc ecu, or a 89 Teg unit that can be found at a junkyard for like $20.

If your dying for the extra 20 hp that a b16 gives you, just get a set of cams for like $300

that sounds like a good plan. i was thinking about this tonight.

i was thinking about ditching an engine swap, and just getting oter less pricey stuff like exhaust, intake, and suspension goodies. saving the rest of the money for a car, hopefully an EP next summer.

or i could say fuck that, get an engine swap and build the shit out of it.

i think i like the first choice more...
