I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

Munster's Winter Thread.

Post by munster » October 23, 2006

Well...it's getting that time. Betty's almost ready to be parked. Maybe one or two visits to the track to get some cool weather passes out of the LS before it's yanked. Figured I'd throw a thread together to keep a checklist for myself and give you guys something else to read other than some whore threads.

Here's the plans as of right now:

B18C block.
84mm bore
GE sleeves
89mm stroke
Head is undetermined right now.
GT35R turbo
Top Mount manifold (unsure of brand. Taking opinions.)
Full Race traction bar.
Finally put my rear discs on.
rear lower tie bar
Function/Form coilovers
Quaife LSD in my GSR tranny and make sure everything's kosher inside. (third has a crunch to it already)
Clean up the bay, tuck some wires, put in a vac manifold, change over some lines to braided stainless steel.
fuel rail, fuel pressure regulator, up the voltage to my fuel pump, and possibly a larger feed line (8AN or so). See where my fuel is when it gets tuned when it's all done.

Plans are to see what she's got in the spring. If they throw me out for no cage...I'm where I want to be. Then I can worry about a cage if I want to keep it at that level. We'll see. I really should learn how to drive 260whp, though. hahaha. We'll see if I can get the elusive 12.5 on 10psi before the snow lays.

can't wait to see it all done munster it's gonna be sick!

Maybe i'll make myself a winter build thread too ... my car is gonna take a mild transformation over the next few months as well 8)

Edit -

I was looking at the function/form coilovers as well... i might pick up some koni yellows and ground controls instead though.

Also - munster... you, duanne and myself all have the same mentality about the cage issue. I'm not going to get one till they tell me not to come back unless there's one in there. Then i'll just look at them with a smile on my face and ask if i can just turn the boost down instead :P

I just don't want to deal with the other issues that come with a cage. The rigidity just killing parts. I'll work up to it. I'm sure it's eventually going to be caged. Possibly even next year.

agreed. I don't really feel like snapping axles like its no one's business ... especially because when my car runs and its not snowing, it's daily driven.

I'm figuring that it'll be most of the summer with very high trap speeds and horrible ETs.
