I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

JDM....in a whole different way.

Post by boostjunkie95 » November 04, 2006

I thought i would share my other JDM ride. It used to be a 2005 Honda CRF50 but theres not much OEM Honda stuff left on the bike, the plastic, gas tank, and a few pieces inside the motor are all that remains from the factory. Its loaded with JDM goodnees. Almost the entire motor is made up of aftermarket parts straight from Japan....the whole tranny, clutch and cover, crank, piston, cam, cylinder, head, oil pump, valve breather etc..... all the electrical....wiring harness, inner rotor, coil, CDI....its all right from Japan made by Takegawa and Kitaco. The boxes, instructions, diagrams, stickers, and all that shit are in Japanese...so if you didnt know what you were doing or couldnt speak Japanese you'd be pretty much fucked. The bikes are a blast to ride, hands down the most fun i've ever had on 2 wheels, you cant really get the feel for them until you get them out on a moto X track and throw some jumps infront of them. In stock trim they put down a staggering 2.8hp to the rear wheel, you can get up to 124cc DOHC engine kits for these bikes that bump them up to around 20-22hp. You dont see many making that kind of power, the DOHC kits run around $5500 so im sure thats why. The bike I own prolly makes around 10hp and can run about 50-55mph. Heres a few pics...the last 2 are of a bone stock bike just to give you an idea of how much has gone into it. Image Image Image Image Image

i recently ordered a "pitbike" for my hercules' little brother. It's kind of cheap, but it's a 50 frame with a 125 motor or something. He's always tearing up the streets of our development haha. He clocked it at 51 the other day

Even the less expensive ones are a great time, they beat you up a little more but its all worth it. We need to all get together some afternoon and pound the snot out of the bikes for a few hours. Munster i have and aftermarket cam and some other stuff here that im not using if you want to try it out, no doubt it'll put you up over 4hp.... if your ready for that kind of power.

BBR definatley makes some nice equipment, i think they are even building high end race bikes these days. I dropped some cash into a 117cc stroker kit and a close ratio tranny since the pics were taken, i'll have to get some updated ones. Munster you gotta ride this thing since the change, i was working on the jetting this afternoon.....the bike is like night and day from the last time you rode it. It revs like a CRF450.
