I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

back to the topic though.
If infact it DOES require you to run a higher boost level - then i won't bother doing it... I was under the impression that it didn't though, because the flow rates of their smaller turbo's are roughly the same as a garrett of a bit larger of a size.
I haven't looked into it completely, because I'm happy with my 30R ... so i'm pretty sure i'm keeping it regardess ... but if i'm able to sell mine to break even for the price of a borg warner, and also be able to make even the same power at the same boost levels, but having a quicker spool time ... i might do it. Nothing's in stone ... but like i'm saying, if i don't lose any money on the deal, and end up having an even more broad powerband ... then it might sway my decision.
And bandwagon wasn't really the word i was looking for... because garrett does have great quality products so that's the main reason people stick to it. What I meant by the statement, is that there are so many people out there that are so close minded, that no one wants to even try to think about another company... even if they are good.
It's like the whole turbo manifold thing... people are so bent on full-race, and while they might have great quality products ... there are quite a few other companies out that are up there too. Arizona Forced Induction and RLD-Fab just to name a few .... and on top of that, people think that it's MANDITORY to run a top mount or equal length manifold to make big power, and Knauff, I know you can vouch that sometimes a good quality log manifold is sufficient... it's just the fact that anymore, people ONLY read things or go by things that a friend of a friend say. No one really seems to have real-life experience anymore...
sorry if you took offense to me asking the bandwagon question. I was just trying to understand why you thought it was a bandwagon that's all. Its all in preference and you ultimate goal on how you want your car to perform. Good luck Duanne with the build and all keep us posted.

It didn't, because it still pulled hard ... but it just seemed to fall on it's face. I don't know if that's because the torque curve was so damn flat from like 4500+ or what ... but it's just weird. Maybe because of the small exhaust side on the turbo? At first i thought it was just a stock b16 nature, and i was expecting my stockblock setup to be the same ... but it's not. My car feels just like it did with the previous 2 setups.
and thhhhstop it! I'm not gaayyy. First of all, tug jobs don't come with fries or a soodaaa...

Whatever you decide I'm sure it's going to kick ass. If you can find a turbo that will hold up and produce the same power as a GT series with possibly a shorter spool...do it. I couldn't do it personally, because I don't want to redo anything. I never looked into the Borg Warners, and honestly, didn't even look at the maps. I know Rau and all of those guys are using them, but they also get a check for it.
Speaking of manifolds...what's up with your RLD, Waaaatters? Give me dibs on it and the downpipe when you switch out.

if and when i switch out the RLD, you get first dibs emo-boy ... don't worry. Hold back your tears, it's a bit to early to cry over some equal length love.

I already wrote some songs about it. I have equal length bangs covering my eyes in preparation.
