I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

If your not wearing your seatbelt, they get nothing. It is a legal order that you are supposed to be wearing your seatbelt at all times dude. Happened to someone from Ft. Hood I think. Wrecked his car, wasn't wearing his seatbelt, family got nothing from SGLI. Be careful about that.

I do 70mph on my motorcycle, and what the hell is my helmet going to do? I still wear it, though. At least my brain will still be living when I have no limbs. I also had a friend die from a seatbelt.

Sometimes I wear a seatbelt...sometimes I don't. That's all.
there is a difference between wearing a seatbelt in a car and not wearing one on a bike.

car. a seatbelt slows down your stopping time. if you didnt have it on you would go slamming into the dash/windshield providing you with instantanous slowing down, not a gradual. on a motor cycle if you hit something you and are still connected to your bike, it would be a bad thing. but if you are not connected you will slow down faster, i mean when sliding, when you are not adding 500 extra pounds of weight to your momentum. its all about increasing your rate of slowing down.

take a physics class and you will understand more

^^ agreed. The human body can only handle a sudden G force change of only 11-12 G's. (G being the force of gravity being forced onto the body. Normal is 14.7psi or 1 Bar. In a severe car accident the sudden stop of running into yourdashboard, or steering wheel can be upwards of 100g. So that kind of impact destroys bones. I used to never wear a seatbelt, ever. I was in a car accidnet where I wasn't wearing it. I broke 2 of my ribs, fractured my skull, and plenty of cuts bumps and bruises. If I had been wearing my seatbelt I only would have had a few bruises. Instead I bounced around the cabin, slammed my head on the window, and put my chest into the steering wheel. I still have no idea how I lived, but I did. Now I never go anywhere without it on.
