I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

Well if it's true, then that's their problem. Why would people buy expensive parts when they can buy less expensive ones? They control their prices to a certain extent, and choose to put them where they are. If they're doing that bad, then they need to lower their prices to compete with the rest of the market. If a product is well designed and manufactured with quality materials, I'll buy it whether it's a knock-off or a name brand product.

word.

It doesn't help that there are companies like blox who is manufactured at the same place as skunk2, but kills skunk2's prices. People are wising up to the whole namebrand thing ... and realizing that there are quality parts put out by lesser companies for lesser cost ... maybe it's just time for the 'namebrand' companies to wise up and stop trying to get people to jock their nuts just to have a name...

For the most part, i don't like people buying fake parts ... but if it's the same quality, why not?

in japan, the big name parts are controlled by real motor enthusiasts like JGTC and D1. that's part of the reaon why their prices cost so much. the material and the demand. when a car wins races using these special parts, people will buy those special parts. no matter how much it costs. japan is a money spending country so dropping 800+ on an exhaust is like you buying an aem cai. that's why co. like mugen costs so much. they sell the same parts they use on their race cars.

when the average pair of jeans costs no less than 8,000yen(roughly $80), you can see why people have the money to spend on parts.

i think buying knock-offs has its pros and cons. buying a fake type-r shift knob isn't as bad as buying a fake greddy intercooler. i think there are times it's ok to go with knock-offs. but having the real thing will get you more respect.

i always lived by the phrase 'you get what you pay for' so if you drop 100 bucks on a ebay carbon fiber 'spoon' wing and it fits like shit then thats your own fault.

it just bugs me when you know you took the time to dig around and find the REAL DEAL parts and some1 with the same parts only knock off takes the cake at a car show or something.

when it comes to performance parts and knock off thats anotehr ball game. cause comparing a knock off spoon N1 to a real spoon N1 could have alot of internal differences.

the only knock-off thing i have purchased are lips, why? because an authenic mugen lip is extinct for the 96-98...i plan on purchasing a CTR lip in the not so distant future anyway though.

i'm not gonna spit out $500 on a mugen lip that's gonna get banged up in a few weeks. if i got paid everytime i farted, then sure.

what i hate the most are knock-off steering wheels. the $50 GT racing wheels. fucking GROSS. feels cheap, looks cheap, and it's cheap.
