I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain
Carlisle's coming... anyone trying to get anything done beforehand?
Carlisle's coming... anyone trying to get anything done beforehand?
Carlisle's a little over a month away, and i know this is always the time for me that i feel like i'm frantically trying to get things done. It's not so much the show itself, but for whatever reason, it makes me motivated to buy some new things and get things done.
Last year it was trying to get a motor put together, put in and tuned all in a month's span ... which i missed by only a few short days. I'm pretty sure we dropped the motor and got it started up a day or two before the show.
Now - the car sits outside my house, haggard from it's wreck and awaiting to hit up the body shop. I tore out the interior today, just have to take out the seat belts, door panels, plastic piece around the hatch glass, panels around the rear quarter windows and the carpet and i'm good to go. I would have finished it, but i had to go to work, so tomorrow will be the day. I'm also going to tackle what's left of the front end as well and get that out of the way. If all goes as planned, i'm going to take my intercooler piping off and spray that with Iron Cast and clean up my intercooler. Everytime I look at my bay, i get sick to my stomach and about puke because it's still red, so i'm going to take about a mile of foil, some tape, some tools and spray the shit out it to make it look half decent as well. I also gave a valve cover to my buddy to get sandblasted and cleaned at his work and i'm going to get rid of the my cam-gear exposing beat up cover i have in there now.
I'd really love to pick up some 15" flat black slipstreams, some drag radials and some function form coilovers by the end of the month too, but i'm just too damn broke.
As far as what i know about some locals, it looks like Duanne has the most to do. He's still got to put the motor together, hope everything comes in in time, drop the bitch in and do a street tune to get it able to drive down there.
Todd just picked up some wheels and is trying to grab some suspension quick.
Darren picked up a gsr swap for 800 with a crapped out bottom end (Everything else mint), and was going to try to get something together by the end of the month as well.
Anyone else have anything they're trying to put together?

The last month before Carlisle is sooooo stressful. Between BUILT stuff and trying to get my new car ready...I'm going crazy! But in the end it's always so worth it. Can't wait to see all my Pa. Bro's!!!

Wow... I cant even think of all of the things i have left to do on a limited time frame and budget.
Honda dealer missed shipping my timing belt, that throws me back at least a week.
Engine is going together. Had to order another head gasket because I believed an online calculator, and bought one before I measured the P-D
Picked up my brake swap yesterday, needs at minimum rotors and pads.
Still undecided on exhaust, thinking T1R...Edit Ordered 3/28
I have not touched the exterior, need to paint the bumper and fenders at minimum and polish my lights. Lip?
Damn thinking about this makes me have to take a crap.

i have a shit ton to do. assemble motor get front brake lines do some random exterior stuff (front lip and headlights) possibly get a tune from hybrid but thats looking slim to none at the moment forgot i have to get it inspected and i also need to buy tires and a new disc and friction plate for my clutch. It most likely wont be there but i'll do my dam best to get it there.....maybe i'll just tow it in and sit it on the back of a flat bed haha
