I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

True, you do get what you pay for... and sometimes corners are cut, but to me, as long as it's something minor - i could care less. In a performance part, i'm not going to really notice it robbing me the 1/2 horsepower. There are plenty of things i will not skimp on, and those that do - i've done my research on. My case in point, OBX LSD... proven to take a beating time and time again, as long as it's checked out before installation.

My blox manifold treats me just fine, and i was able to pick up some golden eagle cam gears with the money i saved over buying a skunk2 mani.

As long as it performs correctly and isn't going to break any sooner than a 'top brand', i'll use it.

Even as far as fake exterior parts go, sometimes it bugs me, but for the most part it does not. As long as someone's not walking around saying it's real - then it's fine with me.

i'm not trying to preach to buy knock off parts at all ... i don't care what anyone buys - just stating my point of view on the whole thing. It's safe to say that 90% of my car is equipped with a real deal, namebrand part .. infact i think my mirrors, wheels, intake manifold and cams are the only things that would be conisdered knock-off... but they work for me and serve their purpose so they're good to go.

Besides that i'm just too broke to buy absolutely everything top notch haha.

ehh... i buy name brand cause they are name brand and i dont rock fakes cause i dont have to... besides when you invest money into your car with real stuff you take better care of it and you pay attention to it more then people who rock the fake stuff...

I don't know about all of you but to each their own. I rock real Mugen....why you ask? Not because I can afford it, but because it WORKS. It has been proven to work. I will put my car against someone with fake Mugen parts......and you will be able to tell what is real and what is fake, even with my badges taken off. And seeing how Mugen works so closely with Honda of Japan.....that is another reason I prefer Mugen. Seeing how they have discontinued things for my car (97 honda civic sedan), I have resorted to Spoon. I just picked up a Radiator, Radiator hoses, and Plug Wires. As far as the exterior parts go.....if you buy knock offs......or cheat body parts.....your gonna put the money into them, if you care, to make them fit properly. Were as you get a real Spoon, Mugen, J's Racing, Amuse, ext.....you don't have to add anything to them to make them fit. They do all that work at the factory and if it doesn't fit there....they don't sell it! Why again you ask.....BECAUSE THE MANUFACTURE CARES WHAT THEY SELL!

While I don't wholly believe BBS or Apex'i in their entireties are going bankrupt...

it wouldn't be a terrible thing. I'm a fan of the BBS LM wheel, but I'd be just as willing to get some bad-ass 3 piece wheels from another company. I base my purchases off of the performance of that particular part, and only consider the parent company when thinking about customer support should that product fail in any way.

I put more emphasis on improving myself as an automotive enthusiast than the particular brand whoreage that may be on my car or not.

i think apex-i's exhaust department may be going bankrupt if its true. theres no way the whole company is going down.
