I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

[*new mod*] image resizer!

Post by .saint » April 17, 2007

alright so when you load up some of the forum pages and you get those retarded HUGE images it does nothing but take forever to load and piss ya off most of the time. well i found a modification that will fit the images to the size of the forums and if you want to see the full image all you have to do is click and BAM!

lemmie know what ya think, browse around the forums and find some big images, lemmie know if you think the page load time is slower or if it slows performance of the site i will remove it.

it will resize them yes. BUT they are clickable to see the full image in the same window, and if u click again they return to the resized size. pretty slick mod and from looking around i dont think it hurts the forum speeds at all.

i dislike it. enforce that users resize their own pictures before posting.

not exactly sure how the resize is set up, but i assume that it's anything above a certain YY x YY pixel size, is now set to ZZ x ZZ pixel size.... might make some pics blurry, or edges choppy.

Possible to do a ratio change or something? Let's say, 50 percent of the original size... like YY x YY is now YY(.5) x YY(.5)

I noticed in one thread (before i saw this thread) that a user's pictures (the ones noted as resized) had some choppy edges and what not...

There may be no way around this, and it's no big deal anyway ... but if i'd be able to view a picture as equally clear as the original without having to click to make it the original size, that'd be uber shweet.

I'm not a fan of resized images since my internet can handle the pictures, but it's cool that you can click on the bar to re-large them.
Good stuff.

the images look choppy cause it changes the width and not the height, just click the bar above the image to see the full size.
