I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

400 hp n/a Honda engine...

Post by kotomile » August 23, 2007

Ok, so in Qatar I happened upon this little Navy guy with a Honda H on his laptop, so I asked what he drove. He said "Si" ('06 Si). He saw my laptop (sporting various stickers including OPTION and Exedy) and asked what I drove, and I told him about the Miata. We got to chatting and he claimed to also own an M3 pushing 30 psi and said his Si was supercharged. Later - get this - he insists there are n/a Honda 4 bangers making 400 hp, and when I was skeptical he said something on the order of "Those little Honda motors will surprise you".

Now of course, my BS meter was pegged the instant he said 30 psi (he's an E5, no way he can afford both of those), and furthermore, when I asked if his supercharger was centrifugal or roots type, he said "Vortech". So if he doesn't know the difference between the two then he loses any credibility with me.

I just want to know, to satisfy my own morbid curiousity, that no here has heard of a 400 hp n/a Honda either.

i think a race only bseries is capable of a little over 300, not sure about the kseries stuff ... but i'd say 400 is pretty far fetched ...

i think in a kseries its not that far fetched but you arent going to come across anything pushing that much power that is street legal in NA form.

i hear ya - i didn't mean far fetched as in not attainable ... more like 'unlikely to see' i guess.

either way - he sounds like a douchebag. Fight him and give me his E36 or E46 ... whichever ///M he owns. haha.

Total loser. Just wanted to impress.

400 is a little hard to get too, so I would say he is lying.

30 psi was my first clue.

Guess it's kinda funny. Poor bastard probably thinks he impressed you.

400 is pretty far fetched for NA. Lopes' NA Bseries on alcohol was 3 something and like 17:1 compression.

but that was with older b-series technology. with the way the k-series is shaping up i think 400 isnt going to be as hard to attain as it once may have been, not saying i can think of one 400hp N/A honda off the top of my head, just saying i think it is becoming more possible with the kseries. :D

i think with a k it could deffinitely be attainable with real good tuning and a lot of money, but not from a B

I think it might be possible in a K but that car would be no where near street-able.
