I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

My Prelude

Post by T0DA » December 15, 2007

This is my first car and I'm also going to college full time so easy on the "it's stock comments," lol. The car was $1,000 and ran pretty decent, just needed alot of work. Has a clean interior... I just got done replacing my h23 that had messed up internally (see pics) for another, so now that maintenance time is up I'm saving up for a nice spring/strut combo, probably a kyb/neuspeed race setup along with a nice fat rear sway bar.

A few from the first day I bought it:

(this was done prior to when I bought it)

I realize it's not much at this point, especially compared to what most of you have but just thought I'd share. Hopefully I'll start showing some progress in the coming months, haven't had much money to mod with thus far. Since June I've bought a set of Khumo's, timing belt/water pump, fixed three oil leaks, etc... just got a new oem replacement clutch and another h23. Mods will come soon enough... :banghead:

Thanks man. Really excited about getting things going with it, the interior is super clean it's really only the outside that has so many problems... Having something that you can put time and money into and seeing results is the best feeling ever though, I'm nowhere near even started with mine but after spending money to fix things it really makes you appreciate what you have alot more. I can already tell this car is a huge money pit (has been so far, spent around $4,000 on it thus far between different things and it's still stock) but someday it will be something I'm very proud of. Again thanks for the kind words! :)

So of all nights for this to happen... Last night I went to my girlfriends house and it was piss-pouring rain outside. I go to leave her house a few hours later and get down the road and notice that my driver side wiper is going at a slower speed than my passenger side wiper all of a sudden... and before I know it, they cross up! The driver side is barely coming up, while the passenger side goes OVER it and they get entangled. I had to be home by 10... it was 9:45. Shit what was I to do? I pulled over and pulled them apart, popped the hood and got to the nut on it, it was loose and I didn't have any tools with me so I hand-tightened it the best I could. Got back on the road, at this point I couldn't see worth crap, using only my passenger side wiper and leaning over my console to look out the passenger side of my windshield to drive with. (SUCKED, and was very dangerous/sketchy).
Got home and took a look at it for a brief second, it ended up bending my whole driver side wiper (not just the blade, but the whole thing) so looks like I'm buying new wiper arms and blades soon. My car's got to be inspected this month, isn't that one thing that has to work?
So stupid, I don't even know how that happened, especially of all nights...

Yay. Just went out and all it was, was the two nuts that hold the wiper arms on came loose and tightened those. I had to take a pair of pliers and squeeze/crimp the arm back together so it held the blade on. Fixed it, I'm happy... One less thing to fix. :)

Good starter, love that bodystyle of ludes. That sucks about the scoured crank journal.
