Ever wonder why your 205 tire looks bulky on your CP-F but not as bulky on your CP-R in the same size?

Take a look at my WHEEL MEASUREMENT informational, and maybe this will clear some things up.

its pretty good information but ironically thats how wheel companies measure their wheels... the actual wheel face size not including the lip is what they claim it is and the wheel width not including the same lip is exactly what they claim it is... the lip searves one purpose and thats to hold both the tire psi and the tire on the wheel... for example if you have a 15" rim that didnt have that lip you would see that the tire would fit over the rim pretty close to perfect... and if the width is 7" you will see that the tire when aired up fills that space between the two flanges (lips) and expands to roughly 7"... id actually have to see what your talking about when you compare the CP-F and the CP-R with the same tire size... from what ive seen its the tires construction that can really change how the tire will look... like some tires have a lip of their own that makes them stick out more when compared to other tires which gives them a different look... infact i have 2 different sets of tires mounted on my TE37s... one set has that lip the other does not but they are both the same size tires just of a different make... ill take pictures and post them up so we can all compare... =)

nice point out though i really wouldnt have thought of that...

I mean obviously, there's a difference between a J and a JJ wheel, but this is more of a general topic, just to answer a question or two. I may consider going into more detail at a later date..

I didn't want to compare how the tires themselves look, as that's a whole new discussion in itself..

this thread also shows one of the reason why alot of aftermarket wheels have to have the tires reverse mounted. the inside lip of the wheels shouldnt vary to much though, maybe you could do measurements of the inside on the dif wheels just to copare those
