I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

the oil was from the old leak from the distributor and removing it, the whole bottom and back of the tranny looked blac klike that which is why when i seen those cracks in the first place i freaked out. The old distributor had a bad inner and outer o-ring which was spitting oil over the top of the tranny and making it run down the back/side. also when i took off the distributor i forgot to drain the oil first which caused more "fresh" oil to leak down on the tranny. Was part of the reason why i was cleaning the tranny in the first place. this pic was taken after i had put the new distributor on and had flushed/changed the oil and decided to take a rag and start wiping the tranny down. its been 3 days now and no new oil is on the tranny so not really worried. once it gets warmer here in NY i will start cleaning it up better, i really only spent like 5 min wiping this down without any kinda of cleaner but it just to cold out to be out for long right now. might be getting into the 40's this weak so might considering going out with some engine degreaser and hitting it better. stil have a good 2 months til it even see's the outside of the garage so plenty of time.
bottom of the old distributor
Top of the tranny from under the distributor, kinda cleaned a small spot because of the fresh oil but can stil see where everything was pretty much covered in old oil

also i am assuming that you are talking about that spot in the bottom right corner of the first pic and a little blury in the top right corner of the second pic? i am 90% sure that is from the oil that was spilled by me being an idiot when removing the old distributor but will keep an eye on it later when i clean stuff up better. the pics are from 3 days after cleaning the bottom so some might have leaked down from the top that i didnt clean up well enough. when i said "no new oil since cleaning it" i was refering to under the new distributor onto the top of the tranny again.Nikku wrote:im worried about that oil that is collecting in that spot on the first one.
haha, we'll see. Really kinda on to the whole H22 thing atm. if it was a H22 head i would have taken it from you already
I can get a jdm motor and ecu for around 1500 which is pretty good and building the H23 it would cost that much if not more just to get to what a JDM h22 is stock but without v-tec stil. before i used to think i would be satisfied with just slapping some cams in but the more i read the more about moding the H series the more i want either the h23 hybrid or just a JDM h22...
