well a harbor frieght just opened up here in town, what an awesome little store.

they carry just about anything tool related u can think of at about 1/4 of the cost of everything else. granted most of the stuff in the store has the lowest of low quality but some of the stuff is actually good. i just picked up a 1/2" clicker torque wrench ( http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/D ... number=239 )they had on grand opening sale for $15 its made by "Pittsburgh Professional" and a brake pad spreader $4 ( http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/D ... mber=34304 )from the same company, never heard of the name but it has a lifetime warranty on the parts. the only drawback from there warranty over Sears/craftsman and lowes/kobalt is you have to send the tool back to the company and they ship you a new one. but shit 15 bucks for a clicker torque wrench compared to a craftsman 80-90 bucks. i could break it probly 20+ times and still wont compare to the price of the craftsman. figured i would give it a whirl. i have yet to use it but i plan on picking up a few more pittsburgh professional tools from there in the future.

its a dope little store for those 'im only really going to need this tool 1 time for this project' type of tool store. i dont think i would buy any of the power tools like drills and saws, chicago electric makes them, they seem cheaply made but hey never know

would love to build my car with some snapon or matco tools but i just cant afford that shit so ill spend the money on the car and buy cheaper toold to install my expensive parts.

cant wait till the frightmare build starts ill probly be a regular in that store picking up drill bits and hole saws and shit.

I used to use Harbor Freight all the time, they are cheap, and have lifetime warranty just like Sears. I broke a few tools and just decided to go with Sears. If I ever need EXPENSIVE tools I get em from HF, but just wrenches and shit I get from Sears.

word. u have broke a few of there wrenches? i still wanna try them, they have those metric 7pc open end ratchet wrenches for 26 bucks compared to craftsman and kobalt who are selling them for $70.

most if not all my bolts on my car are slowly being replaced with brand new OEM bolts and grease has been used on all the bolts that require it. im trying to eventually do a full restore on the car and make it immaculate (once i find myself a daily) im hoping *fingers crossed* these tools wil work out for the amount ill be using them. i dont use them on a daily basis. i work construction for a living haha so i dont see the need to really invest in a redic set of $$ hand tools. but i guess once i start really snapping these cheapo's (if i do) then ill go after something a lil more quality i geuss, just cant see myself spending any more on tools that are not going to get heavily abused my 2 cents.

I buy hammers, drill bits, clamps, punches, etc from places like HF. Stuff that doesn't really matter, but you always need.

DVO by my house has alot of stuff for super cheap. They buy out inventory from places that are going out of business or stuff from truck wrecks.

I borrow tools from techs at work. I am fortunate. The tools I do buy, however, are Craftsmen. For no reason other than that's the tools I buy, and I can break them whenever I want. Super special tools, SS sometimes has.

but thats because i get a 50% discount while im school.

haha. like i said before i have yet to use any of this stuff so i have yet to make a deciding factor if i like this stuff or if it is truly JUNK so.. whatever.
