I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

About that time again to start thinking about the EVO and all the fun spring brings with it. I dont think I can afford to pull my head and restud it and put in a new head gasket, buy the new turbo, the new injectors, etc. this spring. So decided to beef up the suspension a bit. I will probably get my balls busted for the choice in coilovers but I did a lot of research and for what I do cannot justify spending the $$$ to go a different route. So here goes...

Megan Racing Street coilovers w/ 7k front and 8k rear springs. Image Whiteline roll-center kit Image I am also shaving the rear fenders, ceramic coating the exhaust mani heat shield with black Jet Hot, re-powdercoating my uicp gloss black, and adding a Samco EVO specific coupler with new t-bolt clamps here a soon as I bring it out of storage. Like I said, little odds and ends. So hopefully that is all done before Carlise. Should look cleaner under the hood and have better drop with better handling to boot. Next year, MORE POWER for sure!!!

PS: Forgot I got a 1x1 weave cf radiator shroud for Xmas.
Image Image See I hate all the different colors under there! Everything will be nice and black and one solid color and one clean look here very soon.

I never heard of those actually. But they are like $1250. I am getting the Megans for $775 shipped. If I was to spend more I would probably go with the BC Racing inverteds for $1090 shipped. But there are several guys who have been running Megan streets at autox and track as well as on the street for 30, 40, 50k miles with zero issues. I dont race much so I think they will be fine for me. Just want to tighten things up a bit and give the car that perfect drop.

But trust me, my initial thoughts on Megan were the same. But after reading A LOT these seem to have evolved into a reputable product.

I dont know...maybe I should stick to plan A and get the BCs. I think I posted on here like a year or two ago about them. I need to do more research. I would like to get this thing leveled out by Carlisle though. And I am sick of the understeer that came from lowering the front as much as I did.
