I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

Re: '77 260GT
Tax return came in, on payday, huzzah!
I get to buy things I NEED, and wait until Summer to buy things I want.
I get to call Hideo at Power Enterprises USA, back... Yeah, school working hours don't buy kevlar reinforced timing belts...
Also get to make contact with Wilwood to rectify an issue with my brake kit. Can't make any returns, or bust anyone's balls, just have to swallow the loss. Atleast I get to spend more on flashier rotors with hats.
I'm going to shop around a bit for my water pump, I'm getting some weird prices, but I suspect a certain N1 waterpump that is priced as a standard waterpump is really... It's probably the case, but not a waste of time finding out for sure.
Today I've entered the world of metal stock. I like. It's a goal of mine to become a decent fabricator by the time I have a degree as a decent engineer. I know the more familiar I am with actually creating pieces, the better I will be at designing them in CAD. Then with CAD, I can eliminate poor prototypes, blah blah blah, I'm just excited for the future.
I've been building this myself, getting burned by "professionals" recommended by "friends" for long enough that I've gotten very strict with my "I want to do it, because I want to know how to do it, more than I want it done." I'd rather do a piss-poor job myself, than pay someone else good money, that is very limited, to do a slightly better piss-poor job. I can fuck it up, and learn how to fix it, for cheaper than someone else .
... and then you get phone calls from people who you met along the way, who went and learned more than you about cars, and now are one of your best resources for the same project that you thought would be done "in three weeks" five years ago...
It's nice out, I'm on a path, and I get to play cars tomorrow. S'gravy.

Peak Performance is still selling their S13 Big brake kit with the same rotors that I have...
http://www.peak-performance.net/content/view/204/83/
Weird, this, because the pads extend outside the rotor area... Any experience with this?
Image of the rotor says it's a 300Z disc, 11 inches.

Well, that's good, I guess.
So I just need to pick up some 11" Z rotors. You think those rotors would work in the rear? Wonder wonder.
Anyone tried the DBA kangaroo paw rotors? I like their 4000 gold series slotted and drilled. Drilled aren't suggested for motorsport. Just the slotted ones are, though. Hummmmm...

I'll have to list them somewhere.
Re: '77 260GT (getting ranty and bloggish)
My guy at Power Enterprise USA doesn't work there anymore. Hopefully the new girl works as quickly as he did.
Part is in stock though, which is nice.
They don't take cards, so I may get to play my first game of COD. By that, I mean the shipping girl at work gets to play for me.
"Shizzam, Enjuku be wantin' to charge me $30 for shippin'! How they gone play a sucka like dat?"
I'm waiting for an e-mail back verifying they have the N1 in stock.
Power Enterprise USA, Enjuku Racing and Peak Performance are all getting bothered by me this afternoon.
I should call Turner... Oooh, damn good thing I checked. I had it wrong with M12x1.5 versus M12x1.25, close call!
Power Enterprise, ordered.
Enjuku, ordered.
Lug nuts, effed. I have to search around for motorsport nuts. There's no way old dudes are paying $60-150 for lug nuts, not possible. I know I'm not doing it.
Found some. 20 for the price of a bad pizza. Mathematically they work. We'll see how bad they wreck the RPF1s.

All the parts are here. For Mother's Day weekend. Fuck.
On an awesome note, I have a 1974 Schwinn Varsity (for $free.95) that I will be using as my "can be stolen and will not cry" bike for school. I found it's owner's manual online, and one image in it was this.
Yeah yeah, it didn't have "77" in there, but just squiggles. I thought the "It's the Law" and "Official" below was funny. So, that explains that. I also want to start switching the avs up more, now that I figured out transparency.
