I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

Transmission Help

Post by ap_red97ek » June 19, 2009

So i didnt know where to post this because i just realized there really isnt an area to talk about transmissions and drivetrain so, if you want to put it where is should be .saint go ahead...

...anyway, here is the problem i'm having. I thick my clutch its starting to go and probably need to be replaced. It started acting up wednesday night after work. Its find when i pull out and i'm driving at a constant pace but as soon as i let off to slow down or make a turn to can feel as though it has come out of gear(but it really hasnt) and then when i give it some gas there is a delay where it is like its in neutral and then catches and goes. It did this alday thursrday as well and then thursday night it stopped and did not do it again this morning. Any thoughts on what you guys think it might be? I think its just my clutch is worn down and starting to slip and needs replaced.

If i could get some opinions on this ASAP that would be great

yes is manual. hydrolic. there are 112,500 miles on it. its a 1997. no big mods, just exhaust, header, and intake. thats about it performance wise.

With that many miles theres a good chance it could be the clutch especially if its stock.

stop it on level ground and try to pull out in second gear. if its hard for the car to move then you probably need a new clutch
