i gots a new job as well,.joined the army national guard back in feb. was supposed to be leaving the 9th of june, but i got a fractured right elbow and left wrist on friday, which unfortunately was my birthday as well.anyways, the MOS i got is 25U which is a signal support system specialist, basically fixing communication equipment. my ship date is going to get moved back to mid august or so.

i got a new job that i'll be starting in august. i'm the Technology Education teacher at Edgewood High School in Maryland. i'm pretty geeked

well its been almost a month now and im back for a job status update.

im still with earth tech and its been going great. tons of hours and not really killing myself at all. i got to meet a lot of great guys and i got to see a lot of not so great contractors haha.

right now im working on the insane stony creek wind farm. huge windmills and substations. its like a maze in the woods. been testing like 300 yards of concrete a day. im going to snap some iphone pics tomorrow.

the place is nuts up there and the wildlife i get to see is pretty interesting. there has been a few bear sightings but none where i have been yet. kinda pumped to see a bear (somewhat). a lot of deer, turkey, foxes and snakes.

busy busy, my start times are anywhere from 4:30am to 8am. at the moment. been getting anywhere from 8 to 12 hours a day but the work is seriously like... 3 total hours a day. its fantastic! i really feel stress free now and just loving life right now. to the career change.

School is being a *ahem* again. Bureaucracy-wise, getting classes . I think I'm just really bad at jumping through hoops.

Awesome to hear. So far my co-op is kinda like a more involved job-shadowing thing that i get paid for then a real job. It is interesting because I am getting to see of things in the field of Safety are handled on a day to day basis.

Its alot of meetings too and they suck, especially when they have them at 7 am, I cant stay awake half the time haha As far as they work they give me, its simple things that take me an hour to do and when i'm finshed they're always like, "uhhh...well, ok. Just go ahead and read this document and see if you can find any revisions that need made.", and the document she hands me has already be looked at and review and has all the changes in the margins. Not much i can really change when everything has been done already ahah

But overall I am enjoying my time here and the chance to gain some real world experience in my field of study instead of just the classroom, plus the pay beats any summer job I could have gotten back at home haha

i was on the wind farm again today.

270 yards of concrete in the pedestal/base slab. very impressive. this is the base slab to those big ass windmill/wind turbines.

this is one of the smaller ones on the site. where im testing is called 'super 7' they are the smaller ones on the wind farm. the bigger ones take 400 yards per pedestal/base. crazy.
i forget how many thousands of pounds of rebar are in there.

Im digging the Army national guard so far. Still in my recruit sustainment program, which isnt bad at all. never do any actual work, just pt tests and classes ranging from medical emergencies to tactical squad based movements.

I'm pretty pumped for basic and AIT though..i think it'll be a lot of fun.
