I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

well, i went ahead and traded in Heavy Rain (got platinum on it and saw all the endings of the DLC) and picked up FF12 (couldnt find it until now lol) and FF13.

i love how FF13 looks but im too early in the story to tell you how i feel about it. in a weird sense so far im like FF12 better when it comes to fighting. 13 is cool and all that but it seems like all i have to do is choose auto so far and thats getting boreing. on top of that you only have to worry about one character dieing for the game to be over and you cant control anyone else in the group. at least in 12 you could adjust how the other characters in your party played while you focused on one.

my biggest annoyance is how freakin slow the fight selection really is. there is too much animation between menus. its like there is no sense of urgency at all. the game is gorgeous but i would like SquareEnix to go back to their roots more. i want map exploration but i also want to see the enemies coming. i think they should have kept the way battles are fought from 12 BUT changed it alittle, i.e. you can run into enemies and fight them imediately BUT other enemies cant join in, characters still move around the enemy but its back to the turn based system. characters also cant target anything outside a certain radius of the battle so nothing else can join in.

so far 13 hasnt impressed me when i comes to game play but they have done their job when it comes to graphics.

you are 2 early in the game if you are bored with battles.
im 25+ hours in and once you get into the meat of the game its insane. yo have to use the paradigms so damn much, commando side u need to throw in some blitz when its not avail in auto fight.

the more you play the more you will appreciate. from the get go FF1 to now, 13 is easily my fav. the character build up and every thing is spot on, you will see give it a few hours.

the thing im not likeing is that i m 6-10 hours in the game and there still are totourials popping up. also i didnt like that at the beginning of the game you have 5 characters you can upgrade and equip but you cant change parrty members to save your life. now when they get separated thats another thing but i would have liked to explore characters sooner then later.

and yes i agree that blitz if godly but the fact the CPU wont use it in auto battle is a buzz kill. so i just use it and then use repeat lot.

they use it on auto after a bit :)
as for changing characters. yeah it takes some time till you are able to change the party members. the tutorials help so dang much on a lot of things, you will be getting them up till 1 point then they seem to die off, i still get 1 or so every now and again.

they only use it when there is a group together when they target other wise they dont take into account the possibility of the enemies converging onto one person. for that reason alone i love useing Lite as a the Leader with Com. im also annoyed that there is no power leveling at all or farming parts this early. i have Lite's first sword at lvl18 and no one else is above 6 because i cant find enough stuff. only reason Lite's sword is so high is cause i got a x3 multiplier and it was really easy and fast to level up after that. apparently i need multiple like 8+ of one item to get the multipliers and i cant farm or anything so its making it difficult.

ive died like 30 times already too. haha. its starting to get annoying changeing that crap so often in the middle of battle. i miss the whole idea of you control each character and decide what to do type of fighting. this is fine but unless i have a certain party setup i have a difficult time trying to get staggers to go on.

well fellas i just beat the end of the game a few minutes ago. it was alittle TOO easy though considering i had more trouble with earlier bosses. to understand how easy i mean... i 5 Star'ed the Final Bosses 2nd form to give me the trophy on my first real attempt. someone said Death does alot of damage to him so i tried it first and it was pathetic so i switched my party back to the usual group hence why i say first real attempt.

now im off to level up the rest of the stuff and try and get all the other trophies im missing. supposedly this is where the game is supposed to get hard with the Mark missions. we shall see ;)

target time was something like 2 minutes and 30 seconds but i got it in 1 minute 32 seconds...
