I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

I have a b20b in my crx and it idles around 2 grand. I dont know what it is from i have tried the idle screw and checked the throttle cable. I have a b18a intake manifold and there are two lines that go to the stock air box but i have a intake and have those lines capped could that be it

have you bothered to check for vacume leaks? also you might want to make sure that all of the old IM gasket was cleared off of the head when you changed IM's

yup, a vacuum leak sounds about right. who did the swap and/or how long has it been in the car?

no it wasn't his first - swapped a b18a into his car first, but blew a headgasket or something so he dropped the b20 in. He also dropped a zc into another of our friend's crx. The same people helped with all 3 swaps.

i told him to just replace all the tubes for the vacuum lines, and see if that fixes it. And if not, then look for something else

idle probs

take some carb cleaner and spray it around your intake manifold and throttle body, if the idle changes you have definite vacuum leak. Most probable is either throttle body gasket or intake manifold gasket.

i had the problem few months back. In my case it was because the throtle cable was too tight. I suggest you check the following things as basic checkups:
1. throtle body valve closes all th way
2. spray degreaser on vacuum line and let motor run then look for bubbles, if any, then they are leaks.
3. Does your car idle okay at first then high after a while? if so, it can be fitv and eacv issues.
4. double check you manifold swap, espeacially neglected vacuum lines or plugs.

I help this helps. good luck.
