I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

dc2-r style trunk-wall bar

Post by phan » February 17, 2004

from the factory, ITRs come with a trunk-wall bar. it's "supposed" to stiffen up flex back there...yea. anywho, i figure honda made it a stock for a reason, so maybe i'd fab one up? i found what seemed to be the strongest points on the trunk-wall of the rex and used a bar i found on my basketball court. :X i'm not going to say whether i think it's doing much of anything (because in my head it does), but the back is a bit quieter when going up driveways and taking turns and such...check out the install pics. Image Image it was free to make, took me about 20 minutes to grind/pound/drill the one end that was flat, and looks interesting (since no other rex has one :P). what do you guys think?

Nice fab job, looks OE! I'm wondering though how much it actually helps, but like you said if Honda put it in the ITR it must have been for a reason...

I might do that and combine it with a trunk floor bar, too.

yea, i'm going to do a trunk bar as well, but i'm not sure if i should do an EM style (from the trunk floor to the shock tower) or just across like the trunk-wall bar. but yea, i'm going to home depot today to get a bigger diameter pipe and make it connect to the bumper-support bolts. :)

That's pretty rad. Is that a monkey bar from a jungle gym? Looks it.

If it is...that's the coolest monkey bar ever.
