os2 placement in 01' EX civic

my buddy just got his exhaust done at a not so great place. The stock cat has an O2 sensor in the middle of it, he had an aftermarket hi-flow cat installed and the guy installed the O2 sensor before the cat. So now the car barely runs because its running so lean. I told him to take it back and the guy said he would move it but he 'though' thats where it should go. AFter looking at my friends sisters car (which is stock, same year, same model) and the o2 sensor is in the middle of the cat. I suppose it would be fine if he had it installed behind the cat? That would be the logical placement with the aftermarket cat. Anyhow, let me know what you guys think.

Since it's an 01 I'm supposing that the o2 sensor is the second one.

There's a measurement for the placement of the second o2 sensor from the cat, but I don't know it offhand.

One has to be in front of the cat and one after, though.

right its the second o2 sensor. The first one is right after the collector on the header. The car is running hella lean it seems, but of course it thinks there is no cat at all (since its before the cat). Hopefully he can get it repositioned and it'll work right then. Poor thing.

I was driving it last night, and now I want a fukin FWD tuner so bad!@#!@ GImme my 6spd swap for my GA damnit lol.

Tell him to just get an o2 elminator and splice it in.

That's what I ran on my obd2 dseries.

okay where can he get one and how much? he may just opt to do that, I know that they have them for my GM and I was going to get one, but I wasn't sure if they made them for hondaz

That's where I got mine. It was an easy splice. I think I did it in about thirty minutes.

splice into the rpm wire, throttle positioning, first o2 sensor, then loop the second o2 sensor through the unit. no more cel when you don't have a cat.
