I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

JDM Gods must help this n00bz0r

Post by tenchu » March 31, 2004

Yes yes yes, I, the all mighty n00b, bows down to you jdm gods, and ask of your assistance. I am looking into getting a CRX and doing an LS swap. I am looking for an `88hf shell for about $500, and from there i have some questions.

[center:a29fb8f746]¤LS Motor swap¤[/center:a29fb8f746]
-How hard is this in an 88hf?
-Can I do VTEC -and- Turbo?
-What turbo setup should I go?

[center:a29fb8f746]¤OPEN FOR SUGGESTIONS¤[/center:a29fb8f746]
-Under $5000 for Car/Engine/Mods
-Light car (weight)
-I want my car to be turbo, no matter what, I <3 turbos

Bseries into CRX requires a mount kit (hasport, etc.)
LS = nonvtec, but you can easily turbo a vtec motor if you b16, etc. LS has lower compression. (why most people turbo them)
Turbo setup is really open to anything. Best thing to do is know what you're starting with, what internal work you want to go, and set a horsepower goal and what turbo characteristics you want to have.(I'm doing this right now)

Then get in touch with a turbo expert (preferrably Honda turbo) and see what they have to say. There's alot of crazy boost guys on here that can help you out as far as turbo sizing.

Good luck.

well from what I hear those MKIII's are a bit costly if they break down.. and to get good HP outta them requires a good amount of money too.. not to mention that they are pretty hard to find in good condition/turbo/manual
