I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

yeah but realistcly how many 19 year old guys have paid full price tags for everything on there car? like especially drifting, its an expensive hobby real expensive, so you cant really cut corners, so top stuff must be purchased to stay on top. i know that sponsership has to help alot for some of these cars ive seen, because it seems impossible to have that much money at that age, unless you have incredible luck to have rich parents, land your self a killer job right off the bat, or get sponsered.
i wish i could afford coilovers...

i've bought everything placed on my cars... except now for my JDM SiR Tails & Gauge Cluster that my bf bought me for my CRX, along with some corners lenses and a shift knob...

it's an expensive hobby, but you just have to price around what you REALLY want at any given time, and save save save :/

what sucks about the whole thing is.. none of it is practicle because its a hobby. and later on down the road you will kick yourself in the ass for waisting the money. because i blew alot of money on worthless car parts.

a lot of people get into car accidents and use the insurance money to buy parts/paint jobs/etc......

i myself utilized my insurance money to mod my car. :)

I don't think anything that you spend money on, and it puts a smile on your face, is a waste of money in any sense. I'd spend $30,000 on my car if I had it just because that's what I want.

Everyone needs an escape from the everyday shit. My escapes just happen to be bmx, music, my car, and my sport bike (when I get it).

And your question on how a 19 year old can afford stuff for their car? I have a friend that would live in the garage for weeks on end during school, buying everything with a credit card, only to pay it all off during the summer when he worked his ass off. Nothing comes for free. To get sponsored you have to work your ass off, and getting sponsored is a pleasant relief for those that get it. A reward in a sense.

only problem i have with modding my car.. is those damn thieves... i have already gotten my car borken into 2 times in the last year.. kinda put a damper on my modding of the car, last one really did a number on the cars wires and I had to be w/o it for almost a month till the dumb shop figured out which wire went where. Im putting a hold on my modding till I buy a different car (srt-4) and am outta FIU

hey man, I know what you mean.

If you guys can get around to it, or email me and I can send you videos called:

Redline 1 and 2

The video is packed with guys/girls our age with mint MKIV supras and the cars are done up so badly that you can feed a small country.

Where the F*** do these kids get the money??? like 17-21 year old in a MKIV supra, hitting about 600+ HP???

And i'm driving a 94 civic Si wil not even 1/4 the power mentioned above.
