RIM/TIRE HELP!!!

HELP....

My stock wheels are 15x6 with 205/60R/15s.
I bought some 16x7 rims. What is the maximum tire width I could fit on there? Tire rack only recommends 205s on that size rim.

Why is a 15x6 able to carry a 205, but a 16x7 cant go any wider?

And what tire would you recommend for super grip without being slicks. /must be D.O.T. legal

you shouldnt get anything bigger than a 205 because itll rub like a bitch..and 205 can be runon 15's because... i dont know, just because...haha but yes, dont get anything bigger than a 205 unless you wanna be a 4x4

On the first part, a 15X6 is likely to have a higher AR (like 45-50, maybe 55), which makes it easier to fit on that rim. I've seen plent of SUVs come through TK with 235s on 16X7.5s, but then you're alking about a 60-70 AR. Low-pro tires like 40 series might not seat on a 7" rim well in a 215 width, though I'm sure I could squeeze them on. Hopefully I can hook you up, right now I'm trying to stay on the management to get Josh's proxes sometime this week.

We can get NT555s, Proxes, Yokos, etc. For whatever reason we can't get our hands on Azenis, but you can always buy tires from tirerack.com and have me shlap em on. Gimme a call.

225 is even possible, but why would you? what's stock for the siR model of your car? probably 195 right?

my car currently has 195-45-16 proxes t1s on the wheels... on offset 45 wheels... DUDE IT'S FRIGGIN PERFECT... no more tracking / railroading / whatever the US term for that shit is...

besides... not sure if you're in a rainy part of the country, but overhere it rains a LOT... and having wheels that don't go aquaplaning on y0 ass is a very good thing in the back of your head, trust me...

He lives in Jax, Fl, it rains near every afternoon for about 20 minutes in the summer lol, then the rest of the year it rains maybe 2-3 days a month.

I don't think they made a 240SX SiR anyway.

hahaha, I dont want a 40 AR, I was looking at some 225/50R/16 Falken Azenis.

And my stock wheels are 205/60R/15s.

What about Yokohamas parental ship with ADVAN!!!!???? they make tires!

Ecsta 712's in 225/45/16 or Yoko ES100s in 225/45/16? which one is better?

thats the tire size I want. If you can get either one of these tires in that size lemme know, Whichever one has a stiffer sidewall......haha, and handles the best, prolly the 712's!

they dont make that in a 45AR for a 16. It sucks. And thats a drifting tire. Not that its not a bad thing, but I want different tires for that. I want autocross/street tires in that size. Falken comes up short on that one.
