I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

Miata suspension on the way!

Post by kotomile » August 23, 2004

I'm very excited, I just ordered the full Spec Miata susension package from Modacar. Bilstein shocks, Cround Controls, and Sways (the rear bar is adjustable). This'll put me in CSP when I don the Hoosiers (225 45 13), so I'll be kept separate from the turbo and super'd MX5s.

Just givin' y'all an update.

That sounds sick. Make sure to post some pics. What do you have done to the engine?

So that I can explain, which part do you not understand?

CSP... is it a different class?

Yes, basically CSP (for those cars eligible for the class) is suspension unlimited, brakes restricted, engine limited to bolt-ons, tires unrestricted. So, figuring I'm running the 13x8s with Hoosiers, and my suspension should be on by the next event, this class will be a perfect fit until I do something more drastic under the hood (still debating back-and-forth whether to super or turbo, leaning toward turbo).

There are a lot more options if you go turbo right? What class will that put you in? Sorry for all the questions, I've tossing around the idea of getting a Miata for a while now.

Well, sort of, not really. For turbo there is the Greddy kit (1200 bucks but BARE bones crude kit), and Flyin' Miata (offered in stages, the 5000 dollar FMII kit being the pick of the litter, a VERY comprehensive kit). There's not much else I am aware of. For supercharging there is the tried-an-true Jackson Racing kit (around 3000), the Jackson based BRP kit (the one used on the show Tuner Transformation), and the all new, king of all belt-driven intake manifolds Flyin' Miata UBERCHARGER, which uses a larger, twin screw blower and can be had with an air-to-air intercooler and link engine management. I might get the Ubercharger after all.

About the second question, it will put me in Street Mod 2, where I was with the CRX. I advise you to drive a Miata sometime soon, that's all it took to get me hooked.
