I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

what to do

Post by ban » October 29, 2004

i know this doesn't deal with hondas and inline fours but i'm puttin a 350 in my s-10. i ahve the motor already and i'm gonna rebuild it over the winter. now my question to all you car junkies is this. Should i rebuild the motor back to stock so shes a steady dependable driver with decent gas mileage or should i stroke her to a 383 with aluminum heads, edelbrock intake, and a 650 demon carb, etc... theres alot more that will go with these components but thats the jist of it. money is tight but don't let that be part of your decision. my truck is definately worth the swap. i'v shaved the tailgate and custom grille and more and repainted it. its lowered with springs shocks and blocks. i'll get pics up when i get them from my dads comp.

*shrug* what's the rest of the truck like? If you're going to throw in a stroker I hope you've already done your work on suspension/chassis stiffening/fat rubber to go with it, otherwise it'd be a waste and you should just stick with the plain 350. Also, I guess, do you have a second car as a daily driver? It's fun to have big horsepower toys but that's all they end up being is toys, at least most of the time, because you're always playing, and it's always breaking.

its been lowered 3/3. the front will drop aother inch with the v8 in it and i'm replaceing the rear blocks with lowerng leafs for a better ride. all the front bushings were replaced when i lowered it. once i finish it i'm gonna have my fun with it and sell it. i had another project underway before i started this one so i plan on finishing that. i'm just doin this to get more money out of it when i sell it. depending on cash flow this winter the stroker kit is definately possible
