I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

What Engine??
Hey guys I need a little bit of help here Im lookin to do an engine swap here in the spring, Im tryin to get some other ppl's opinons. I have a 98 Civic Ex, so what are my choices and what is all the stuff I will need to do them? Im either looking at doing an LS swap and putting it under boost or Im leaning at digging deep in my pocket for the b16a2 jdm si engine. Either way, could u guys help me out on telling me everything I will need to do one or the swaps thanks alot, Keep On Keepin On....
I personally wouldn't do a B16 because of the torque. I'd stick to the 1.8s. Whether you do a C or B is up to you.
As far as what you need...believe me...get an obd2 motor. Whether or not you run a harness to an obd1 ecu is fine. Just get an obd2 motor so you don't have to splice the injectors, switch distributors, switch plugs, etc. It's a pain in the ass and there's alot of room for error.
Mounts you'll need: 99-00 Si rear mount. 99-00 Si drivers side bracket (cast iron) that bolts to the block. All of the other mounts you'll reuse your Civic ones.
When you buy the swap you need to make sure that you get the ecu, tranny, motor, shift linkage and axles (incl. intermediate shaft)
I think I got everything.

Thanks Man
Hey man thanks a lot, would u happen to know of any local places that carry the b16 swap? What do u think about going usdm b16 instead of jdm? Are the usdm ones easier to find and are they cheaper?
stock 1.6 why swap another? just because of vtec dont meen a damn thing. an ls civic would walk all over an si. i did it before in my old eg.

REPLY
IT REALLY DOESNT MATTER AT THIS POINT ANYTHING BETTER THAN WHAT I GOT THE SOHC 1.6 VTEC I JUST WANTED TO SEE WHAT I WOULD BE ABLE TO RUN WITH STOCK INTERNALS. LETS SAY EVERYTHING IS STOCK, AND I RUN 10LBS OF BOOST WHAT KINDA HP AM I LOOKIN AT...
