I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

RS grill badge.

Post by .saint » February 24, 2005

aj-racing hatchbacks all run rs badges. Image i know the RS badge was ment for the sedan's.

i see aj-racing puts the rs badge on all there hatchbacks... do you consider this 'rice' since its not a true rs? and if you DO consider that 'rice' do you consider putting 'civic type-r' oem stickers on your car rice?

i personally like the RS badge alot... i was considering it when i change the color next winter. i just wanna hear other feedback.. im still torn between.

I have the RS badge. :P With O.E backing plate too. ;) Removed it since though as it through off the entire symetry of my front end. I was going more for the whole "Road Sailing" historic look at the time, and I personally do not consider the RS badge to be rice, but it is however becoming a trend.

Now if you were to place the Vi-RS badging onto a coupe, or hatchback, then yes I'd hoof you in the gonads. haha And as for the Civic Type R badging, if you have the motor to back up the decal, then by all means use it. If not, once again I will refer you to the kicking in the gonads. :P

Im not exactly sure. Im leaning towards rice, but I honestly do like the way it looks, just not the mentality. It would be like me putting an SI badge on my car. Or a turbo sticker on a non-turbo eclipse. Etc

RS in 1974 or something originally stood for Road Sailing. There was a big advertisement from Honda for the 3 door RS hatchback, and in the background was some winding roads, and in big bold letters it said "Road Sailing". However when it comes to the Vi-RS, I honestly think its just a model name, and nothing more. Lots of people think it stands for Racing Sedan, but there's nothing "Racing" about a 130HP 3 Stage VTEC Single Cam.

yeah i was leaning towards 'just a model name' as far as rice goes... i did see some older 80 style civic hatchback's w/the rs badge... you could always tell people 'know your roots!'

Personally...I wouldn't put it on.

Even though I have all of the SiR parts that I do...I'd never put an SiR badge on my car. You might have almost a complete CTR interior, but I imagine you'd never put the badging on yours.

i wouldnt put ctr badges on the car... but the 'know your roots' road sailing badge would be cool. imo.
