I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

I have a spare RB20 trans from an earlier engine. The tranny attached to the RB26 is a RB25, I was just curious if the input shaft from the RB20 would work in the RB25. I'm going to be using the McKinney dirftshaft however, so this is no longer an issue because it comes with the input shaft that can be used on the RB25 trans. Thanks for the help though, I'm learning more and more everyday.

Ah cool..
So If I might enquire...
What importer did you get that engine from, and how much coin did it set you back...if you dont mind me asking...
Because it seems like a nice motor with some desirable mods.
S14.. Currently motorless.

He bought a whole front clip. It was a full race 180SX drag car from Japan.

Ha, bow on!
I got my engine from Osaka Japanese Motors in Canada, they blow goats. The nice thing is they own junkyards in Japan and this was a complete car and both halves were shipped over here. Bad news is shipping the rear portion to me was insane, so I just got the rear end assembly. I originally paid $7k for all of it, plus about $1.5k worth of shipping. I got my chassis for $175 plus about $800 shipping. It's all still cheaper than a used WRX, so I'm happy. It's still a long way from done, but I don't have to buy any rims/kit shit until later, so hopefully I'll pick up a sponsor to get fair prices on those items. Here's to hoping!

Once more, don't use Osaka, they fellate goats, use anyone that you've heard good news about. This happened to be a once-in-a-lifetime find. I actually found it searching for a CA18 in a 180SX clip. HAHA.

I'm going to see the car next week when I go to the shop to order some things and pick our stickers up. I'll get some good pics. Here's a few low quality pics of his car.

Yeah I havent heard good things about Osaka..
Did you hand pick that motor or did you just order an RB26 and they sent you that?
7K aint bad tho considering its single...
Have you cracked the motor open at all yet?
If the motors good that would be a really good deal...
I'd pull the pan off, look for metal shavings and pull the mains and rod caps and check the bearings...
Buying some new stuff like water/oil pump would probably be a good idea as well... Ive heard alot of stories of RB's oil pumps failing...
Very interesting swap tho man... Snap alot of pics of that thing. lol
I can always use more RB26 pictures to drool over...

I don't know where Jay got his motor, but it wasn't in great condition. I know the turbos were froze up, oil was never changed, and he put internals in it. Couldn't complain since it is a complete rb26. Can't really pick through em.

I need to get Jay to start posting here. He's a genius when it comes to Nissans. His username is 10secondsorbust
