I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

Actually that's what I thought. But if you use just a little bit on the end of a qtip, its really easy to do.

Correct! You don't have to cake it on there, just a little bit to prevent the paint from sticking. Doing that with a QTip vs sanding, the Vaseline trick comes out the winner.

As far as the types of paint, I have painted many valve covers, from my original GS-R, two EM1 Si's and others that I have done for friends...KRYLON rocks. Many available colors, will not chip, fade, or flake off. I speak of just regular Krylon...like not even $2 per can.

Good luck!

And just to add to the Krylon vs heat defense, I have used Krylon on brake calipers as well...again, no fading, chipping, or flaking. Just an awesome finish...again with the choice of so many colors, you cannot go wrong. Just make the area is clean before applying your coats of paint.

yeah it turned out pretty good. if only I could have preped the areas around HONDA better, as there a tad rough. Meh the valve cover on my car right now will be powder coated later on anyways. haha

I'm thinking once its dry, sanding it down a shade with some like 3000 grit sandpaper.

Oh yeah the valve cover I'm working with was free. And when I recieved it, it was the ugliest thing you've ever seen. Rotten inside, and out. Unfortunatly I didn't snap any before pics. But this was after sanding it down for an hour with 100 grit sand paper.
Image Then I improved it a little more after a few hours of sanding with various sand papers.
Image And currently it sits like this, going to wait till later to wipe the paint off the HONDA portion. ;)
