I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

WAPANESE

Post by neokeoki » June 07, 2005

Image Image There is a difference between watching anime and being Wapanese.

An anime watcher does just that, he watches anime.

The Wapanese watch anime and will think they were born and raised in Japan.

An anime watcher may use a quote now an then from an anime he likes.

The Wapanese will try to learn Japanese, but not the correct way, from watching anime. They'll only learn a few words and use them with English, using what is called Japanglish.

An anime watcher will watch what he can on television or maybe buy a video or DVD.

The Wapanese will buy untranslated anime and translate them horribly. They will proceed to gripe and complain that their hacked up garbage is better than anything ever made.

An anime watcher will do nothing else.

Due to a chemical imbalance in their heads, the Wapanese will denounce their country, stalk Asian girls, eat nothing but Asian food, grow disgustingly huge and/or pale, live in their parents house until they are 30 or older, and generally be annoyances for the rest of their lives or until they snap out of it, which usually happens around 9th or 10th grade.

just learned this one lately, just noticed it on a lot of forums for fan j-pop, anime, japan etc. the above is from urbandictionary.com, there's a lot of them but i decided to pick this one.

its just sad to see that there's people out there like that and actually put a lot of effort on some of these sites. one thing that cracks me up is that they have "clans" like Morning Musume Hello Project Clan of some shit. This people need to be dropped off in Ethiopia.
hipertekspeed.com... its better than crack.

:haha: I have 150+ anime dvd's, but I buy them from Best Buy and online...am I Wapanese?

I am 20 and moving out next month, I weigh 145 lbs., my girlfriend is asian, I drive an import, I know one or two japanese phrases, I don't try to learn the language because I'm too lazy. chinese food is fucking greasy, I love sushi, but I also love sourdough jacks from jack in the box, and USA is one of the best countries out there....am I a borderline WAP, or just an anime fan? ...Only time will tell...

anime fan, i'd say.. i have lots of anime's too and i love the japanese culture, my girl is japanese, i live in japan but by no means i claim to be japanese. im just saying that it is sad that some people that couldnt fit in their society take on a different culture and pretend to be something else.

I lived in Japan for 3 years and married a Japanese girl. I speak, read, and write the language. I worked as a bartender in a Japanese bar and got my Japanese visa while I was there. My daughter is half Japanese but me, American. I live a japanese lifestyle but that is different then saying i am Japanese. I do also joke with my wife by telling her that I am .3007% Japanese. I will never buy fake anything and never ever dress like that!
