I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

Post by phan » July 14, 2005

and i had a few questions. i want to go 99-00 front. now, are all 99-00 civic front ends the same? is there a difference found between say a 99 ex vs. a 99 si? what about the rear bumpers? any differences amongst 96-00?

and i'd need a full front end to convert from my 97 - 99/00 right? i.e. bumper, fenders, lights, hood?

thanks for the info, guys. :D

i thought the headlights changed shape a bit from 99-00. if that's the case, then a different hood would be required to accomodate this. john? anyone? someone answer all my questions, i want to get all my front end parts before the weekend so i can start some body/prep work before paint. :D

all 99-00 are the same. coupe, hatch what ev. you are going to need hood, bumper, fenders, lights, upper grill.. im not sure if the RAD support is the same or not but that can be cut or whatever if need be.

The rad support is not needed. My buddy Randy (jdmej8) did the 99-00 front end conversion on his 98 just recently.

His Car:

Image So if you have any specific questions you might want to ask him. But Jon is right, you will infact need Hood, Headlights, Fenders, Grill, and Bumper. All 99-00 Honda Civics regardless of the model use the exact same front end, however the Si/SiR came with a a different front grill (from the Civic Type R), and front underspoiler (also from the Civic Type R). When it comes to the rear bumpers they also got a change in 99-00. However the Hatchback bumper will NOT fit on a Coupe/Sedan, and vice versa. There was also an optional rear underspoiler offered for the Si/SiR which has now been discontinued.

Good luck with your project. ;)
