I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

I absolutely agree with your point here, and if SS's car wasn't a converted auto car, I wouldn't recommend he do the conversion. Also, the fact that it's exactly the same thing that I just completed, makes things MUCH easier.

To the point, again you're absolutely correct that it's silly to convert a pristine chassis. I wouldn't have done rhd, but my car was also auto, AND my engine was such that I couldn't have done lhd if I had wanted to (which I did). What you need to understand (as I'm assuming you're not in the Nissan community, I may be wrong) is that people do sell their clips when they're done via web forums and the like, often for free simply to get rid of their junk.

Another point you were sadly correct on is the missing parts issue, but even SS was missing a piece from his US interior, that I gave to him from my "US parts car" interior that I wasn't using. I gave it to him for free because he was so darn cute, but had I known that he would drink a full 24 case of my Lite beer, I would have charged him a little, as is usually the case. 240 owners have the luxury that our cars are track sluts, generally not looking the best, but oh well.....

Anyways, to the main point, welding. You are correct that I wouldn't let Johnny Handjob weld my car, however, if someone is capable of welding (which many Johnny BLOWjob's are) it's merely a spot weld every inch or so, with no "difficult" seam-welding involved. I must note that this is only speaking from my 89-94 240SX experience, and other vehicles might not be as super fucking awesome. A tack weld every inch gets the job done exactly as stock does, potentially better due to the "hand built"-ness of the conversion.

Fact is, that the rhd can be done, very cheap, given any matter of luck. It can be cheap, if you can weld it yourself, which I would have liked to have done. I think I've said all the crap involved, you "just" drill out all tack welds on both chassis and clip, then swap them over and tack weld the rhd firewall back in place, no other work really needed, besides the crap that should be on the clip excluding engine.

Or, you could hack it together as seen done on a Type-R Integra on Honda-Tech with JB Weld, it's up to you.

werd, i am not from the nissan community, however, once things settle out with my crx and i am satisfied w/it ( which could be never lol) i really want to buy a 240 sx coupe or hatch if i have to, but the coupe has a little more appeal to me since my buddy had one years back that was rockin cut springs and a dual primer paint job. was still alot of fun though

LOL, yeah, I have a fastback (hatch) because my first car I had was a fastback. I searched for coupes the first time, but now I love the fastback, just cause.
