I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

See ya in a few days.

vent. relax. have fun. anything goes. off topic chit-chat.

I originally had a 600RR ordered, found my Harley, got a deal on it, and was already offered $800 more than what I paid for it. I could sell my 99 Harley and only spend 1000 more to get a brand new Superhawk.

The 600RR was probably the best handling Honda I've ever ridden, but it was too uncomfortable. I wouldn't ride that thing 100 miles let alone 500+.

Most normal people will never push a sport touring bike to its limits let alone a RR on public streets. I want something comfortable.

yeah, true, thats why i recommended the VFR instead of the VTR :P

I've heard of reliablilty issues with the new VFRs, though. Shouldn't have changed them after 97 if you ask me.

such as what? i was working at the dealership when the new VTEC model arrived. the only thing is that the valve adjustment costs a GRIP because they are shim under bucket, resulting in a $1600 valve adjustment (unless you do your own work :D). i prefer fuel injected bikes as opposed to carbureated bikes, as fuel injection is an auto adjusting system and carbureation you have to adjust given your altitude, etc. what issues have you heard of with the VFR 800?

One is the valve adjustment costs. Heat on the rider. Seat and rider position, etc. Nothing motor wise except for the valves (which I think is ridiculous).I never got to ride one.

I heard a few from lots of guys that owned them...I just can't remember them all. We spoke to one guy who only owned his 98 for four months before he got rid of it. Said it overheated alot too.

I'm still up in the air. I'm not planning on getting a new bike until this winter or spring. Definitely going sport-touring, though. The only sportbike I would get would be an F4i. They've become pretty comfortable since the RR came out.

No naked bike for me.

If I didn't ride so many miles...I would consider an RR. I actually had one on order before I found the Harley for such a deal, and 1.5 years later I'm making money on the HD. I don't regret owning it, because I knew I wouldn't have it long.

I grew up on MX bikes. It was a matter of time before I was on a sportbike.

I rode my friend's GSXR 600, and I didn't like the feel. Ran great, but I just didn't like the tank or something about the rider position above the waist.

I like Suzukis, though.
