I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

The only crank pulley I'd put on my car would be a factory- made N1, I wouldn't trust the other ones do to too many problems w/ engines who have the unorthodox pulleys installed. Do you guys wanna deal with issues w/ an aftermarkey part, or install a factory solution? I believe the aftermarket ones cost more then the factory N1's as well, so why have a pissing contest on this forum over this? Buy a HONDA made pulley, save money, and don't take a chance of your engine having failure do to the CHANCE of a poor designed aftermarket part. 8) A lot of parts go into a performance engine...many could lead to failure, why wouldn't you eliminate one of those "many" if you could? :own:

PS temp yes you do pee in my wheaties, cause you over step your boundaries of knowledge w/ your bias opinions and ignorance. don't blink builds way more engines then you do (ones that produce way more power as well) and ever will, for that matter. Please install an unothodox pulley on your car and hopefully it will blow up...then you can bias opinonate and argue to it...maybe ever call it a bullshitter or a liar. :middle:

again, let me just put part of his post here because i guess you just DONT read
so im gonna post up an artivcial of someone who knows more than both of us. this is an articial written from Larry at endyne. so if anyone has a little time to sit back and read its pretty interesting. then everyone can make there own decissions on what they wanna do.

i am not overstepping anything, oh and FYI mr, i am going to only use an N1 crank pulley

http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1354739

look its a thread full of people like you, only citing speculation with no factual evidence, one guy came close by posting articles but they were for DOMESTIC motors. You are getting your panties in a bunch, but you wont cite anything to prove me wrong, i have never once said definitively that an aftermarket pulley will or will NOT damage an engine, what i have said is that no one has submitted PROOF, which is what always happens, these crank pulley debates always get run into the ground because people that are like you just fuel the fire rather then post anything informative. Until someone uses an oscilliscope, inspects bearings, etc etc etc then there is nothing conclusive supporting the theory that they will destroy an engine, and there is nothing conclusive to say it will not. Harmonics do come into play, but given engine design, characteristics of the metals used, oil properties, etc, means that the harmonics factor comes into play at high rpm, not thruout the band because the engine will dampen some of the harmonics thru all the peices it has to travel thru. again

it seems that you are always on the offense mr. green, and you need to just relax, participate in the debate with info, or just don't post.
Just call me Dr. Vice.

you know, one thing that seems to be a common denominator here is this, people say they have used the pulleys on their N/A motor and had absolutely no problems, but once they turbo their motor and continue using the pulley, they shatter their oil pump. Which makes me wonder if engine "harmonics" is increased thru the excess compressed air in the combustion chamber (as this makes the most sense), or if their oil pump was already taking a shit because they beat the hell out of their motor and then they put on the pulley and beat on it worse because of the fact that it revs faster, thus causing the part to fail....

heres a quesion for you. How would a lightened flywheel affect the top speed of a motor?

technically it wouldnt because you are not re-gearing the motor

nah, i ran a 9lb flywheel for 2+ years with no problems, however i would only recommend cromoly steel for a flywheel and not aluminum
