I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

Oh did I mention my freind just got a new car.... from japan

Post by benjamin » October 04, 2005

My freind just purchased this completly JDM honda integra type R... from a tuneshop in DULUTH! minnesota, that just sold a skyline... has a few vr-4s, supra's, and rx-7's

they got it through a guy in oregon and he said that it was actually pretty easy to import a integra or civic cause they have US counterparts, which I was not aware of.

The owner also owns a ferrari modena and I will post pics of that if you want.

Nice. I love Teg JDM fronts. Beautiful.

I've heard that Civics, Integras, and Silvias are easy to import. Skylines aren't since there's no counterpart. I read somewhere that if you are going to import a car that there was no US counterpart, and no one else has imported, then you have to import two. One for yourself and one for the government to tear apart and do testing on to see if it passes all of the criteria. Depending on the results of the test...is what you have to change to legalize it.

Thats awesome. You know what would be cool, putting a 98+ usdm from end on it. I bet it would be the only jdm teggy in the US with a usdm front. Maybe in the world even(I dont know if those guys in japan put US fronts on that shit). And he could probably make good money by selling the jdm front and buying a US front.

from what I hear is that they bring a bunch of cars in containers and they get the cars for like pennies. a buddy of mine was trying to bring over his ctr from japan but it was running him about $4grand for customs and all the other crap.
for skylines, i've heard that if take out the engine and put it aside, then you shouldn't have any problems bring the car over.
