I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

Tranny problems
How much damage can i get from dumping a 6 puck clutch @ 6000rpms repeatedly? Now very tme i pull out i hear a loud crack noise, I'm not sure if its a tranny, suspension, or motor mount problem. Can anyone give me some advice and any chance honda would help me since I only have 15,000 miles on the car any warranty left?
damn knepper that all started the night at the blvd huh? i remember you saying something about it. not sure about the warranty because of all the aftermarkrt BS. but wont hurt to call and ask.

wow.. dumping a 6-puck at 6000rpms..
you can damage the pressure plate..
you can damage the gears.. but more importantly the mainshaft..
the driveshaft can become tweaked or break under pressure..
motor mounts can wear fast..
if you keep doing it.. eventually.. if nothing goes before then..you could throw a piston/rod through your block..
more wear goes towards cv boots and axles..
torque converter will definitely warp or break if you keep dumping the clutch at 6000rpm at a full stop..
if you haven't broken your clutch in properly.. you'll break your glaze your clutch faster than anything else.. and it'll end up no good..
if you're going to be launching at that high of rpm.. i suggest you upgrade your motor mounts and start doing rolling launches..
get your car rolling forward at about 5-10mph.. then dump the clutch..

torque converter? 5 speed? drive shaft? huh? when do you get the noise? get with munster and i'll come check it out... oh, i do know how to completely dissassemble, reassemble, and fix 5 speed honda and dsm trannys. if you get the noise when you hit-release-hit the gas it could be several things. maybe not even in the trans. the bushings that keep the suspension from deflecting when you hit hard bumps, corner and accelerate hard could also be very worn from the hard launches.

I'm not really ruling out anything at this point, I think i broke a mount since they are so jive in the new civics...like mush not mount. Or I broke something in te driver side sus. The tranny or axles are a worse case scenario. it's like a crack after some movement/momentum is made also hearing it goin over bumps.
