I'm excited to announce that thejdm is now updated to the latest phpbb 3.2 software. You may notice the site is now mobile friendly but with the upgrade comes some hiccups. theGarage, theGallery, theArcade are no longer supported. In due time the developers should be working to release the modifications to work on the new software. #LetsMakeForumsGreatAgain

guess who doesn't own subaru anymore?

general car and site related talk and chat.

the supercharged TC is pretty sporty imo. Even without the sc it still has the camry 2.4 liter w/ 163 foot pounds of torque. Thats more than most entry level sport compacts...

Maybe Toyota bought Subaru to start developing a sportier side. Either way, I think subaru is safe in their hands.

I'm not sure how I feel about this, i'd hope that Toyota will keep the performance mindedness of Subaru. I for one don't see it being a bad thing that GM owned Subaru, when they bought SAAB, the SAAB cars did nothing but get better, they were pretty dang unreliable pre-GM, and not too fast, after GM got ahold of them, they came out with the Viggen, the SAAB WRX (dont remember what it was called), and many other great cars compaired to there pre-GM ownership. I know this because my father used to be a die hard SAAB freak, pre-GM, and the fuckin things were always breaking down. I guess we can't predict the future, but we can always hope for the best....

you guys do realize its only a 8.7 percent of the whole company... its not that much... just there for moral support really. it's like you were going to give a company some money start up a business, silent partner type deal that you can also use their ideas for your company if you so choose. subaru will stay subaru, they are doing to well to be changed. the only thing that tends to suck balls on their cars in the tranny. now if toyota can help them out with that (HAHAAHAHAHA i hate their trannys) it might be good. maybe get like getrag to help build them some quality trannys.

uuhhh. really? Is that why GM had them using the same platform across itself and saab, which is also, and still owned, by GM? That's not a silent partner relationship, GM RAN THE SHOW. I think you have a gross misunderstanding of just how much control GM, and now Toyota had/have over Subaru.

And what's stopping Toyota from buying up the rest of the shares in Fuji Heavy again?
